1/24 & 1/25 Ford/Mercury Capri builds

Ever since I restored the D & W Zakspeed Ford Capri V4 turbo model kit, I have had the urge to do the same with with the die-cast Dinky Ford Capri Police car, however some of the restoration using metal parts is beyond my capabilities. I wasn't into metalwork at school and I have never used a soldiering iron in a home environment.
I will be using a resin MkI bodyshell plus spare parts and parts from the Dinky model car. I can get hold of the decals online.
As for the Matchbox/AMT PK-4106 1976-1979 Mercury Capri II,I have found most of the parts including an alternative engine.

The 1976-1979 Mercury Capri II no longer has it's original engine this has been changed to the 1/24 Tonka Jaguar XJ-S 5.3 V-12. It's a snug fit. There's a bit of space at the front for a bigger radiator with fans to cool the engine down. I will fit a larger fuel tank in the back. I will keep the British Racing Green paint and spray spots of primer.
