Translation:- confrontation - a policy promulgated by the Sukarno Government of Indonesia against what he perceived as hang overs from the Dutch administration of the Netherlands East Indies before it's independence and transformation into Indonesia.

I don't know how visible he is in the photos but the pilot is Flying Officer Norman Conquest, a veteran of WW2 who eschewed modern coveralls and hard helmet and always flew in his RAAF blues, leather flying helmet, and Mk IX goggles.
