LSR Lightning

As everybody here know, LSR stands for Land Speed Record, and every loyal  subject of Her Gracious Majesty should be aware of the series of cars developed by Richard Noble, the Thrust 1 and 2, Thrust SSC, and lately the Bloodhound SSC.
BUT, before the Thrust,the first tests by Noble had been done, to explore the concept feasibility, using a surplus Lightning on the classic Pendine Sands.
I had a box-less 1/100 Tamiya Lightning to use. First step was to get rid of the ridiculous pregnant belly.
For the running gear, I'll copy that of the American Eagle (based on a F-104).

Between 1/80 and 1/100. Many are Piccolino (a british brand, as is clear from the name  ), there are the Lledo series, the Bloodhound is Corgi, Auto Union etc from Bronco or BoS, even an ancient Anguplas. I have some more to add, and some Piccolino kit to build.

I should get around to finishing the one I started yonks ago using the Tamiya 1/100 kit, based on this
quick and dirty profile I did in 2007.
I've since rethought the wheel arrangement.

I see you chose a Campbell-like colour scheme. Noble's cars (in my story) are more gaudy, and covered with sponsor's decals.
I'd be afraid of using a nose-up trim. Cars I know of are level or even nose-down.

A pair of canards on the front to act as a downforce spoiler should do the trick.
