I really like the lines of K models and very latest G models.

Obviously, if I were to build one, it would be Finnish  ;D
For this one, Finnish G-6 pilots didn't like the wing guns: they make it more of a heavy bomber killer than a dogfighter, so K-14 might not be ideal for me.

The cowling looks like it has machineguns in it. I must assume that a four blade prop can work with them.

Set-up the timing gear correctly & you shouldn't have any problem with a 4-blade prop.

A 5-blade should be OK, too ... maybe, but a 6-blade prop is probably pushing it a bit too far.

A contra-prop is right out!

I don't see why you couldn't synchronise a gun to fire through two three bladed contra props.  It wouldn't be any different to doing south a six blader.  Maybe even better is you arranged for the blades to cross in front of the gun.

I'm now thinking about an Albatross D.V with two bladed contra props...

Has Humbrol 175 become available (again)?  :o Just wondering about the kit's paint instructions; some paint choices are ...interesting.

Not as far as I'm aware Dizzy, and I'm not sure how old the Humbrol listing they use is, but a lot of the colours they suggest aren't in production anymore, especially in acrylic. I use their painting guides purely as inspiration. One of the reasons I was sorry they weren't at Telford last year I wanted to have a chat with them about it. Hopefully they will be there this year.

I do like that bottom scheme.  Might look interesting on an Me 110.

Or a 410 ? Anyway it's my favourite and the one I will probably use as my inspiration.

Done some initial prep work, cutting out and cleaning up major parts etc and so far its all gone fine. I do think the 109 family are AZ's nicest kits. Not many sprue gates and what there are are tiny. They clean up quickly and the fit is excellent. I've a few of their 109 kits of various marks and they are all equally as nice  I'm a bit busy this coming week, but hopefully I'll make more progress.

Major sub-assemblies are complete and they have had their basic paintwork. Just the details to do (and I know a lot of that will not be visible on the finished product, but what the heck  ) and then I can start major assembly

This really is a lovely kit, nice relaxing build. I've built a couple of AZ's F/G/H/K's and they all build well. I have a couple of their E's in the stash, need to see how they build.

I now have a full airframe   It's gone together with one small spot of putty needed (my fault completely) and some PPP in a couple of places.

I really do think that a better modeller than me, or at least one with decent eyesight and no shakes  , could build this and their G's with no putty at all. The only place where you need to take care is the separate cowling panel and that is only because they give you a couple of options so you need to drop your choice in. Next time I'll attach a couple of plastic strip tabs to drop it onto......I think I said that with my first two builds

Little bit of remedial work done (my screw-ups) and she can now be given a thorough clean before priming.

Tail feathers sprayed appliance white and the main colour scheme has been started. Getting there.

Just got the upper side RLM 83 disruptive colour to do and then I can start on the transfers. They suggest RLM 99/Hu 95 for the main camouflage colour. I've not heard of one and haven't got the other, therefore I've used Camotint instead, looks ok at the moment, but we shall see.

You can easily get away with it due to the state of German industry at the time of the K-14. I think they may have even used some paint left over from the first world war.

RLM99 is a more or less fictional/unspecific color code , it can mean anything; generally, a greenish grey (much like Sky) is associated with it, but AFAIK this was not a standardized tone at all.

The Wooksta!

The greenish grey on late war Luftwaffe stuff has always been known as RLM 84 and modellers have always used RAF Sky, although Mil 28 grey green is a better match.  Xtracolour do that one.

And yet some manufacturers, Junkers for instance, were apparently still being quite pedantic about even interior colours.

Anyway I've used Hataka Camotint and I'll use their RLM 83 for the disruptive colour
