Looks like a What-If has set the cat amongst the idiots in the wonderful world of tanks. Somebody made an 'M3 Lancer' model, which is an M3 Grant with a 17pdr

in the sponson and no 37mm turret. Somebody at the Lahore tank museum then appears to have modified a 1:1 scale M3 on display there into something similar. Cue much hot air being expended on various forums...

As far as I can see the model version didn't come from here, but if anyone knows different, please let me know.

As to Cone-head whinging about the creator not making clear it's a fantasy, and being
guilty of spreading misinformation, uh the creator's post on the American Scale Modeler
forum is titled Airfix 1/72 M3 Lancer What-If Build.

Plus the first sentence in his post:
"I am doing a GB on the ATF site..."

Go to the Airfix Tribute Forum, plug M3 Lancer into the search box, and hey-presto-chango
there it is in the What-If GB.

I have pointed out to him that buzzbomb's 2009 build may well be the origin of all these, the rough idea at least being shamelessly ripped off by various model companies.
