Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Your doing a great job always wondered how a horizontal lightning would look like.

I considered the Ye-152 as a potential donor for this build (there's an 1:72 kit around), but it was prohibitively expensive, at least for this task, so that the shaggy PM Su-15 had to suffice.

BTW, were "almost there":

Decals come from the OOB sheet (stencils, even though the Revell sheet is lacking any markings for the canopy) and from an Xtradecal sheet for Lightning F.6s - the odd dayglo orange markings belong to the 11 Squadron aircraft, and they are a nice eye-catcher and break the standard livery up. However, the Xtradecal carrier film turned out to be quite thick and brittle, so that the application of the decals was a bit hazardous. The serial number is fictional/unused, but fits right into the Lightning F.6's production time.

Varnish and some finishing touches (ejection seat, position lights) pending. Nice surprise: the thing even has a proper stance when sitting on its three legs. It's heavy, though, with lots of lead inside, then quite massive plastic and LOTS of putty!

It looks natural
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

If I remember correctly, the red markings were for an exercise. Looks good too

Great model! (on the workbench)
We will see the final pictures, hoping the change of shape appears well enough   <_<
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]
