Unfortunately it's the same with a lot of those Italeri kits ; wonderful subjects, terrible fit  :-\

Gaah.  :banghead:

It looks like a classic "glue the wing uppers to the fuselage and when set glue on the bottom halves,
making any necessary adjustments, filling, correcting alignment issues etc. on the bottom."
:banghead:

All predicated on being able to keep the uppers in the correct positioning - and attached, while adding
the lowers.

Wings are not glued on yet.  But when they are it will not be pretty.
I want to get the fuselage smooth before attacking the roots.

Cargo bay is now lined.  It's actually now not quite high enough to fit a jeep on a pallet.  But we'll keep that between ourselves...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ah, but if it was fitted in the stowed position you would not see it so the point is mute. If you are going to show the jeep being loaded or unloaded then it won't be inside the cargo area so doesn't need to fit.

As long as it looks as if it will fit

It would fit if the roof the cargo bay was also the floor of the upper deck.  Which it should have been.

I plan to pose it with the Jeep on its pallet hanging from the bay just clear of the ground.

By 1945, the Airborne boys were dropping 6 Lb guns and jeeps as a single load from Stirling bombers experimentally.  It was all suspended from a beam in the Bombbay and dropped as a single load onto the target zone.  Apparently it worked quite well, after a few stuffups in the testing.

Stage one fuselage PSR done.  Fuselage windows masked and wings glued on.
Wing PSR requirements could be worse but it's not good.

That's looking remarkably neat for that kit
