Hope to start this entry to the Group Build this weekend.

The title says it all really but here are a couple of pictures to show for now

First the Kit

and because the kit has lots of rivets on it I have made sure I have the apropriate files to deal with them

   ;D

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Does the young lady come with it ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Actually started the build. Some minor glueing of some interior parts together before paint being applied to the insides. Hope to glue some more parts together once I look over the instructions to see what the breakdown is like.

Darn the Humbrol paint I am using for the interior walls and ceiling of the Skyvan  :banghead:  Poor coverage and low adherance too. Think in a day or two I will end up giving the insides a coat of White from a rattle can to form a base and then see if I have any Hataka paint reasonably close, maybe even Xtracolour. It's not as if I am using the correct colour going by the instructions, that paint I don't have in stock and it's not in the latest Humbrol catalouge that I have either so its a reasonably close colour that I am using, well it's not as if anyone will be able to say that it's wrong will it?

Sprayed white primer on the main interior parts today, hope to try a different paint tomorrow. There is a slight reaction between the paints that I noticed, a little orange peeling which I am not really bothered about as its inside the fuselage so not going to be seen in any great detail.

Progress though is progress!

Just finished painting the replacement colour on the inside of the fuselage. Looks much better now and I rather like the "texture" the previous attempt left.

#10
This build will probably come to a grinding halt.

This is the reason....

I know that as it's not in the active range at Airfix that they will not have any spares, so unless I can find a spare or replacement of some kind .....

I think I may have found a donor section for the short shot part of the windscreen but we will have to wait and see when I get to that part of the build.

So far there is progress, slow because I am trying not to push myself due to a "Muscoluskeletal injust to the right chest wall" as the nice lady Doctor put on my sick line for work.

The floor of the cabin had been fitted to the lower exterior of the airframe and these parts have been attached to the Starboard fuselage side which, like it half brother, the Port fuselage side, have had their "windows" glazing fitted. Some clean up of parts for subassemblies' has been performed but I am comming across shortcomings with the instructions. They don't have a full colour call out for all the interior for the military version. There are two decals for the instrument panel, neither of which is asked for and are black ink to go on a black surface, I think because it's not clear what part should be black and if any part should be another colour, so as Spock did in ST IV, The Voyage Home, "I will make a guess".

More painting tomorrow and possibly a couple of pictures as well.

Some progress to report. Although I have not been at work for two and a half weeks, a lot of time has been spent trying not to move too much due to a pulled chest muscle on my front right so modelling has been at a bit of a reduced rate to what was expected. However work has progressed! Interior seating for the passengers has been done, a second coat of paint is required for the material rather than the framework but that is almost ready to fit inside. I have also fitted the weights

Cut to shape so two peiced can sit side by side inder the cockpit floor

And the lead is also two deep as well. It is also at least 50% more weight than is asked for in the instructions which I hope is enough as no more will fit in there!

Getting there...

More painting and sticking together bits

And due to this pulled muscle not being fully healed I have another week at home to make more progress on this. Clouds and silver linings and all that I suppose.

The roof is now on

I have also given the rear door a coat of paint while everything is still seperate so that I don't end up painting the interior Duck Egg Blue  :-\
