Right, I might join this GB at risk of not finishing in time.

So, I won't give any guarantee that this project will be completed on time. Anyway, with three weeks already passed and now starting late with this project, here is the mandatory start photo. What was added after this photo are two tail booms from a 1/170 Nord Noratlas.

Perhaps another project is coming, but there is no deal yet to buy the built model for the necessary parts. So that project is still far from certain.

Cheers,

I strongly approve this project of twin-boomer! <_<
Thanks for your enriching the twin-boom family!  ;D  ;)

I try to imagine (on the basis of P-38 parts) how to mix 2 single-engined planes + 2 booms with tractor engines... Something like that ? No ?

So the first cuts are done: The middle section of the fuselage (marked) will be removed.

This is what you get when the section is removed:

The canopy was put on top as it kind of resembled an egg shaped aircraft. The cockpit will be put on top of the fuselage were the canopy sits in the picture. the resulting openings will be faired over. The trailing edge of the fuselage will be were the black marker is at the tail.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The upper fuselage is covered with sheet styrene.

Test for the lower wing (next to fuselage) and upper wing (in front of fuselage)

The lower fuselage will be cut to about 1/3 of it's length. The upper wing will be put just below the beltline of the canopy. Great thing is the prop axle is still able to turn.

Tophe

Very interesting/inventive look, congratulations!
Have you cancelled the use of the Noratlas booms, the result being just a double deck biplane? (this is not an angry requirement, just a question) ;)

Thank you for the nice comments, Tophe.

The noratlas booms are still planned. They will be mounted on the upper wing, extending backwards. Just left them out in the pictures, but they will be in.

Great news! ;D
All in all, the result may be a triplex-boomer (rather than twin-boomer) but this is great

Going for the original (radial powered) Transavia Airtruk look? If so awesome

Correcting my imagination, still on P-38 basis:

Yes, but...
+ central fin ?
+ tractor engines in front of the booms ?
