This might be an appropriate figure,

or not.......

A quick update on the progress made

The original tailsection of the T-28 is gone and the scars are puttied over.

The fairing behind the canopy is building up little by little. The white blob in the picture is the polyester putty beneath the wing and tailboom connection. It sets much quicker and is easier to sand between wing and tail boom.

Yes, this is taking shape in a good way!
I update my P-38 versions accordingly:

The mayor part of sanding is done. Last bits are still to be done. But social events ( happy new year party with family) will cause some delays.

Also found an 1/48 pilot figure that needs some slimming down to represent Bruce Spence.

I like the weird looks of this model. It stubby fuselage and twin booms look the part. For horizontal tailplanes I have two options: an OV-10 tailplanes is a fit as the booms are at correct distance to accept the OV-10 unit. Or use 2x PZL -142 tailplanes cut in half a la PL-12 airtruk.
Any input on this is welcome.

I like it also
(either way, with joined tailplane or separate tailplanes)

Don't know what a PZL-142 looks like but my vote would be two separate tailplanes like the PL-12

Time for an short update on the work done during the weekend:

Sanding is done now painting the engine, cockpit etc. Stabilo's are in place in "Airtruk style".

Now about the main gear. I'm thinking about streched OV-10 units ( as if it would be retractable in realworld) or use only the lower half of these units and glued them to fixed airfoil shaped units. Nose gear will be the T-28 unit.

Cheers,
David

this looks like some obscure deep see monster. Well done!!!!

Looking really good

Vertical stabilisers look a bit on the small side though... Going to fit some bigger fins and rudders or sticking with those?

@ Tom: that's my spitting image  :o

@Flyer: good point. I'm planning to replace them with OV-1 outboard verticals.

Very good, and close to completion now!
