- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I really hope you were touching all the wood going whilst typing some of those comments ?

Hehehehe, actually it's going quite well.  ;D

All the port side decals are back on and varnished now, as are the upper wing decals on both wings, and they're varnished too. I've been using the Revell Gloss varnish in those funny cube shaped boxes and it works quite well to seal in the decals, but it's not all that gloss, so I'll mask up the engine exhausts and spray varnish it once I've got the starboard side decals on.

Then it's the myriad underside detail decals and the landing gear.

Kit do ya varnish the model before or after you've put the decals on or both ? .
I varnish before the decals go on..helps them to stick better and protects the paint ..I use gloss for this and when don't either flat or semi gloss for the finished build...I do it with all models as the gloss also helps a heap with weathering too.

Yes, I do it both before and after.

I spray varnished it after I'd done the all-over white re-spray, then did the engine stuff, and decaled it. Then RE-varnished it but only over the decals themselves.

With airliner models it's always gloss varnish anyway.  ;D

Just to prove I really AM making progress on the Stretchorde, here's a pic of the starboard side and wing, all decaled.  ;D

You cannot view this attachment.

I've even started on the backstory too.

I feel it is like "The Conroycorde Odyssey", a long and great adventure with twists and turns...
Here not a legend but a true story which may be even better (even for what-ifers) ;)

It's certainly tried my patience quite a bit, but it's on the way now.  ;D

I'm painting a few at the moment and some don't have their hubs that well lineated  :banghead:

These Airfix old moulds are so rubbish that I've had to spend an age just sanding the wheels circular! The moulds must be 1 mm out of line!

And to make matters worse I've lost one of the main wheels and the teeney-weeny tailwheel too. I can probably scratch the tailwheel, and I've got a set of resin Concorde wheels as well, but I'll always be one wheel down now.  :banghead:  :banghead:

It's on its wheels!

Main and nose gear have been assembled and glued in place, not without some difficulty in the nose gear's case as there was no platform for it to sit on with the extended nose, but I engineered a solution and it works. I had to install these bits now as there's a lot of warning decals to go on the underside and they'd just rub off without any gear to protect them.

We're in the last stages now, thank goodness.
