The fastest freighter ever, the 'Stretchcorde'

As I suspected I'll need some more PSR on the wings after priming them. The 'add on' leading edge is a little too thick leading to a 'dent' behind it down to the main wing, and that needs to be filled. More Presto has already been applied and I expect another layer will be needed too.

After a week or so of PSR I'm about there with the top surface of the port wing, what a job that was! Still a bit of trimming to do but the major dent inboard of the LE is gone now.

LOTS more to do on the fuselage, and that's not counting the upper lobe problems! I've had to fill in the whole area where the 2nd leading edge of the wings meets the fuselage as it needed sanding away completely and that left a hefty hole. Now it's mostly putty! Loads more PSR to do on that yet.

Do you have a wholesale account for putty and sandpaper?................................and will the upper lobe cover the windows or do you have a cunning backstory to explain away the change in window shapes half way along it?

I should have, but luckily I do have a few tubes of Presto in stock still. I have run out of wet-and-dry now though, got to get some more soon.

All the windows on both fuselages have been puttied flat as it won't need too many as a freighter, and any that it does need will be done with decals, in the time honoured 1/144 scale airliner fashion.

After the world's longest PSR session on one piece I think I'd agree with you, it wasn't my best ever idea. And I've still got the other wing to do!!!

Mayb it would be faster using a slab of plastic (or plywood) and shaping it...

But my carpentry skills are almost zero!

And I have no idea how to make that complex cambered LE. I'll leave that work to Airfix, they did a pretty god job of it on both long and shorty tail versions.

And now for the other wing. Getting it exactly the same shape as the port one proved to be impossible, but it's not far off.

I was going to post a pic of the results of the latest PSR session on the forward fuselage, but it looks so terrible it's not worth it....

The extended forward fuselege of the Conroycorde is now looking a LOT better than it did before, you can't even see the join.

It took a considerable amount of PSR, with emphasis on the 'S' with a long straight sanding block to get it in line, and in the process I discovered that Airfix's short tail Concorde has a different fuselage section to the long tail version.

But lots of Presto putty has sorted that out.

Hmmm, while great progress is being made on the lengthened wings, the upper bubble of the fuselage is proving to be a disaster zone.

Try as I might, and after trying four different types of glue, the two halves of that Revell DC8-63 fuselage just will NOT stay glued together! It's split along the original join line four times now, after the use of Revell Contacta, Tamiya extra thin, Gorilla Gel superglue and DeLuxe Rapid supergule too.

The only thing I can think of to try now is two pack epoxy, and if that doesn't work I'll either give up the idea and just make a loooooong and wiiiiiiide Concorde parcel carrier or think of something else.......
