QuoteIf I'm not mistaken it gets the CF-117 designation because it's purchase/adoption would've been just before Canada purchased the F-18/CF-118. Is that correct?

No, No, CF-117 belongs to this:

LOL....but I don't have the copyright on it!! LOL
Thanks

Isn't it going to be incredibly hard to paint the wheels and cockpit like that?
Don't you paint them before assembly?
Allan
Nah, this is just a quick build, so it'll be no problem. Just a grey cockpit with a green seat and red headrest. Wheels and gear will be no probs either.

Cheers !

Could you explain us how the X-29 code leaded to 177?
Oops ! I fudged that one up ! It was supposed to be CF-117A....sorry Viper !

My theory ? Since the CF-5 Freedom Fighter was officially the CF-166, and this bird uses the same forward fuselage, I thought that -117 would be a natural extension to the Canadair family.

Cheers !

you gonna make a little one to go in your conventional carrier wing?
Thought about it, but no.

Being fiscally responsible, we need to keep our a/c fleet types to a minimum. Besides, nobody makes one in 350th scale !

I've got a kit bash happening right now involving the old Hasegawa X-29. I've grafted the forward fuselage of Revell Germany's F-5B onto it for a two seater.

Sounds good ! But those German Revll Bs are just soooo sweet ! It must've been hard to chop it up !

True, I think the smallest an armed X-29 is done in is 1/144 or 1/200 - the one from the Area 88 manga.  I wish I'd managed to snag one of the Japan-only ones that Hasegawa did in 1/72 a few years ago.

Love it, FSW always remind me of Gerry Anderson. Love it only thing it needs is a little plastic figure of Yeager.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Er, you mean CF-116?

Nice bird.    Might want to trim the test-flight pitot a bit, tho...

Looking real good El Capitain :)   I was also confused by the designation btw.
Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

Yeah.....d'oh !

I guess I can make the same mistake twice !
