On models, whisky and other important things in life

It is still too cold in my garden shed to spray paint so I am still building new models to paint later.

New is the He-280B-1 with single tail and armed with 4 canon and R4M rockets.

The list of Bf-109s has now grown to 105 variants   

Also in progress is the Focke Wulf Ta-400 from Antares in 1/72

Oh, and on the whisky side of things: Glendronach 21 years old. Lovely dram!

We have a long weekend here with Ascension Day so I got some more modelling done.
Some progress:


Heinkel He-280 B-2 fighter aircraft. Decals almost done. Needs wheels and final varnish.


Messerschmitt Me-110 P-1
Single seat fighter variant of the 110. Painting done ready for decals


Kawasaki Ki-161 Theo. Jet engined version of the Ki-61, Needs some more weathering.


Grumman F13F-1 Lion. Basic paint coat done. Ready for decals.


Heinkel He-362 Schneider seaplane racer. Needs final gloss coat.

Whiskey of the day: Talisker Parley. Finished on Cognac casks. Nice and smooth!

I didn't get any modelling done last weekend as I was in the UK attending the Duxford summer air show.
After that I spent the week in the UK for work.

This weekend however I made some progress on a new build, the De Havilland DH-120 Velocity, a Executive jet based on the Vixen.
After taking the pics, I did get a first layer of white paint on but that revealed the need for some further sanding.   





The Grumman F13F Lion is almost done. I hope to post some pics next week.
Some 20 Bf-109s are nearing completion in my 109 times Bf-109 build.

Whisky of the week: Singleton 15 years.

I saw something today which I never expected to see. A flying Fokker D-21!
