Quote from: The Wooksta! on December 12, 2023, 11:40:18 AMThe second German parcel finally arrived and contained a pair each of a Blohm und Voss P.203 and a Messerschmitt P.1112.  3d printed by my3dbase.com

Both are superbly printed in plastic and the brief play I've had with both shows them to have a really good fit.   Can't wait to make a start on the P.203 especially.  Given that the only alternative is a largely unobtainium Unicraft piece of crap, this looks like Eduard or Tamiya by comparison.

Also in the package was a Jumo 222, but I've a strong feeling that it is 48th, not 72.  Looks to be too big, especially for an engine that's meant to be interchangeable with a Jumo 213 or BMW 801.

Thanks for sharing the link, Lee. Very tempted to order a couple of those Jumo 222 sets...

Received the He 112 today...

Popped through the letterbox this morning a couple of canopy masking sets for my Airfix Me 410's. By an outfit called CT Scale. Hadn't heard of this lot until the Wookster put me on to them   They look very good, but the proof will be in the puding as they say  ;)

Interestingly given it's just been re-released they do a set for the Airfix SR-N1 Hovercraft.

2 x SOL Model 1/35 Military Pin Up Girl - Evelyn (SOL-MM426) - one to be done OoB(ish), the other to make the above slightly more modest but, mostly, to fix that hand hanging out awkwardly in space.

Add some air scoops either side of the nose for refrigeration gear a la the NF13 (which is basically an NF11 otherwise) and straight NF12 markings?

Maybe, maybe something a little more radical like a Nose Job.

Big aeroplane = big box  ;)

Off the top of my head; the Thud Box (it makes that noise when it hits the ground) is packed with an F-105D, an F-105G, two resin engine exhausts, two brass pitot tubes, two resin ventral fins, a replacement vertical tail fin for the F-105G, & a whole bunch of other resin bits to spruce these two aircraft up ... but I can't start building them until the SAC undercarriage sets arrive (& they're on the "wait & see" list).

After a long hiatus, a kit again: a Sword 1:72 Reggiane Re. 2000, will probably end up with yellow wings as a pre-war USAAF aircraft, inspired by one of PantherG's recent profiles. Too pretty and conclusive to be ignored!  ;)

Ordered yesterday;

2 x Reskit 1/48 AIM7E Sparrow III Missiles (4pcs) for F-4 Phantom II, F3H Demon (RS48-0320) - fairly obvious;, weapons, aircraft for the use of
1 x Eduard Models 1/48 Bristol F.2B Fighter [Weekend Edition] (ED 8452) - my second kit of my favourite WW1 aircraft
1 x Eduard Models 1/48 Bristol F.2B Fighter Weekend Detail Set for Eduard kits (ED FE1381) - upgrades for above
1 x SOL Model 1/35 German Dogs (SOL-MM516) - look like either Weimaraners or German Shorthaired Pointers, as they look to be identical dogs, may paint them up as one of each
1 x Border Model 1/35 IJA Tiger I Heavy Tank w/Commander Resin Figure (BORDER-BT-023) - will be modified a bit but marked OoB, to go with my Japanese Panther
1 x Trumpeter Models 1/35 LAV-III 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle (TR 01519) - my second of this kit, will probably build the two of them together & mark them up as RAM's vehicles

My last purchase for this year.

Next year I'm going to have to cut down (I've spent far too much this year) & only buy things I have flagged for notification when they arrive in stock when/if they come in.

Arrived today,
1/72nd scale Academy F-8E. Very nice looking kit, and much better lookjng than the old Hasegawa one I have. It along with the Hasegawa and Sword RF-8 G will be royal navy, aboard a refitted Ark Royal, and sent to the Falklands in 82. I have a few different FAA markings that in a wiffworld will do, but not looked into any of them properly to see if they are Ark Royal based aircraft. They will be all over EDSG, so what few white markings I have will have to do. Does anyone know if there are any Fleet Air Arm sheets in 72nd scale for around the time in question? I am thinking everything fixed wing will be sea harriers, so markings and colours will be completely different from what I want to do, unless I can get hold of 3 lots of sea harrier FRS 1 markings, and put them on top of the EDSG, like I did with my Sea Jaguar. Hmm...? Better get looking.
