Which kit is the GTO?

I've got a vintage Heller one, but I'm not sure I dare build it, I'd HATE to mess it up.  :-\

Lovely  , and it's even got an engine, which some of their kits don't have..

I dropped into my local Hobbycraft to get a couple of 'boxes' of Revell paint (You can't call them 'tinlets' or 'tubes', they're shaped like boxes......) and came out with a new scalpel and a Revell 1/72 Sea Vixen FAW2.

Yeah, I know, but I've never seen one in the plastic and I just love the Vixen.  ;D

It looks a great kit too.

Yes.  Fujimi.  I didn't realise there was no makers name on the box top.  It's a beautiful car.
The wheels are a weak point but I have some aftermarket Boranni wires I can use.  Chromed moulded plastic but very finely done.  The kit ones are spokes moulded in relief like the new Revell E-Type wheels are.  It could also do with metal intake trumpets on the carbies.  Something I again have in hand.

Formerly Cyberhobby moulds.  I have one.  Notes in my stash spreadsheet say "Lee says the nose is too short".

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Small additions, but will allow me to move on with a couple of builds (or even start them).

Conveniently I have a resin nose for one to hand. Not sure if it's from Colin Freightdog or elsewhere but it looks the business anyway.

It may be that Pavla one then, it's definitely for a Sea Vixen.

Not exactly a stash item but a new tool for the bench. Went by the local Aldi to buy some groceries and spotted a lonely box of a small precision rotating tool to use for modelling. It's wireless, USB charged, cost ]18€ and i haven't tested it yet. Some fellow modellers have and say it's worth every cent so, i'll take their word for it.
Also bought a bunch of cheap brushes for use with oil paints, i'll just have to cut a bit off each handle... ;D

Ooh! Nice!!

It is indeed! The kit looks great in the box, too. Resin and PE bits, nice decals. and it's not an expensive kit for what you get. Obviously, assembly will show if it's as good as it looks but, i don't care cause the Firebrand comes into my top 5 fighters list with a radial engine. I actually put the Firebrand in the same league as the Goodyear F2G Corsair when it comes to looks and both are similar and i find it hard to choose one of the two...

Quote from: The Wooksta! on February 28, 2023, 04:50:37 AMMy pair were the mk 4 and the earlier scheme TF5. TBH, I'd like that boxing, if only for the decals but Valom rarely get them right.

Lee, i won't be using most of the decals, if you want them, they're yours.

The only ones i'd like to keep are just the stencils. those would be number 3,4,5,6,,8,9,10,12,13,14,15,16. I'll probably end up building this as a Portuguese Naval Aviation bird, flying off a WWII surplus carrier bought after the war's end. I normally use the kit's decals sheet for stencils and change the country's markings only so that's why i'd like to keep the numbers i've mentioned.
Let me know if you want them like that and i'll send them your way.

If Lee doesn't take them I will  ;D

Gondor

That sheet does look to be better than Valom's usual standard - the ones in the Brigands and Valetta just looked wrong

I'm a greedy, self centred individual but trying to be better. I'd happily halve the sheet with Gondor, if that's okay?

TBH,  other than the ancient Airmodel vacform, I think  I have at least one of each Firebrand V kit released.  I was looking at a Rareplanes one the other day and considering building it at some point this year.

Ta Lee, not worried about the roundels as I have sheets of post war ones I can use.

Gondor

I was thinking you get one serial option, I get the other kind of split.

Wonder how much of a recursive loop can be built up by repeat quotes?

That's perfectly fine with me, just decide which ones each of you want and i'll cut'em up and send'em out.

This is the 9th quote of the OP... that does make me wonder what's the comment with the most repeated quotes on this forum...  ;D

Let's go for more!

Do you think that's wise?

What's the worse that could happen - a mention in Chris' little Black Book?

A trip to the LHS today for super glue gel saw me return with these.

The missing sprue contains the back plate of the hull, the track guards and some detail parts.  Nothing that cannot be scratchbuilt or kitbashed.

I know there are voices in my head but i never listen to them, they tell me to stop buying models...

And to prove i don't listen to the voices, last Friday i ordered the Eduard 1/72 F6F-3 weekend box but there was a problem with the site's listing and it was out of stock. I'll have to wait a few weeks for that one.
Also bought a Revel box of the Zvezda 1/72 Kamov Ka-58 stealth helo but i'm not sure if i'll ever build it or use it as parts fodder for other projects. This one should be delivered next tomorrow.
If that wasn't enough, yesterday i decided it was time to get some more Chinese planes and ordered the Trumpeter 1/48 FC-1 Fierce Dragon/JF-17 Thunder on Superhobby from Poland.
I was thinking of the 1/72 kit but the 1/48 is cheaper  so that's was an easy choice.
