D'oh! You called an ARMOURED CAR a TANK!! :o  :o  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

That's like calling an O-1 Birddog a fighter jet! Two very different vehicles for two very different purposes!

Try using armoured cars as tanks & you're going to have a lot of dead crews, use tanks as armoured cars & there's a high probability of the same result! :-\  :-\  :(  :(

Funny to see this..I just won a auction for a 234 that has everything but the upper hull .
It's a Dragon kit and should be quite useful for my needs..a good score for 15 bucks 👍

Today i've won an auction on Ebay for one of my favorite mud movers... with one bid... Italeri's 1/72 B-26K Counter invader...
I have been looking for one at a reasonable price for at least a couple of years now and never got a chance of buying one so i bought the closest thing that i could find at reasonable prices which was the A-26B kit. I bought the Airfix and the Italeri kits.
I know, the Airfix is old, riveted and raised detail all over... and that the Italeri kit has some issues and maybe the worst are the engines... they're very bad (worst than the Airfix examples) so i've ordered some Quickboost engines and cowlings with the conversion to the B-26K in mind but i would still need the correct props, wing tip tanks, under wing pylons and weapons, among other things so i made other plans... now, those plans have been updated and i'll be using these on the B-26K and maybe buy another set of engines and cowlings for the A-26B, which will be probably be a new variant.

One thing i didn't understand was the fact that the box says 1/48 scale... but the product serial number is correct for the 1/72 parts so either the graphic designer messed up and the QC at Quickboost was asleep at the time it was launched and nobody cared to correct the issue or, maybe there's some weird reason for that?
All i know is that i was p*ss0d off before opening the box, i was ready to send an email to the store where i'd bought the set to say that they'd sent the wrong product...Then i reluctantly opened it...  :banghead:

Not that it matters much in the end but, has anyone else noticed this type of mistake on Quickboost sets? None of the other stuff i own has this issue.

Again ..funny how this is mentioned..one bird I've yet to score but will one way or another it a 48th scale Counter Invader and ICM makes one.
The main reason I haven't gotten one yet it's the $135 price tag here ..one might pop up cheaper but I'm not holding my breath  and there's only one dude here which sells em .
I'll get one ..at some point ..still have a couple of Junkers bombers to get first  ;D

I did consider the ICM kit but it is a bit expensive, around 90€ delivered here while this kit cost me half of that... and i also find the kit too big in 1/48. That's why i want 1/72 for these WWII twin engine bomber types, cheaper and easier to display on my shelves.

I did the 72nd thing when I could do the 72nd thing but I can't do that thing now so it's 48th  ;D
I still wish I could but dude the hands ain't what they once was and neither is the eye sight..it also really doesn't help the matter for me either that I love twin engined aircraft 😁🙃
As for price...yeah a big difference..I honestly don't know how much tho as I don't look at listings for 72nd scale aircraft..I might later on just to be nosey but I'm pretty sure what ill find here..a ton of 109s and 190s..Spitfires and P-51s and probably a few surprises thrown in for good measure  ;D

I understand and totally respect your reasons and i admit, if i had the money and shelf space for that, i'd probably only build 1/48 planes but i can't. It's already getting out of control with the 270 kits in my stash at the moment, of which 180 are 1/72...
I only buy 1/48 kits of my favorites and i feel very lucky to have all of them in my stash. And there are some big ones like the SU-35, SU-57, F-14, F-15, F-16XL 1 and 2 seat, F-22 and F-4E... These are much bigger than anything i've built so far, including the 1/32 Blue Thunder. That helo is based on a Gazelle so even in that scale it's still a fairly manageable size.
With that said, i still wanna buy the new Kinetic 1/48 F-16A MLU kit to build one of the older F-16A Block 15 OCU Vipers that the PoAF uses. I'm using the old tool kit to build one of the real world Block 15 ADF Vipers now cause i want to have both types on my shelves.

My stash has nowhere near that many mate ..I haven't counted and that will take a little while as I've some boxes which are just parts and I don't remember them all..not saying all means many  😉
Space is a big problem for me and I've got 2 F-4s ..2 Ju88s..a 35th MH-60K and Ah-1 Viper and more planes now then I know what to do with space wise and in a wee while 14 more are turning up and thankfully they are mostly tanks 😀

The Wooksta!

Few things snaffled off eBay:

Revell Junkers Ju 86 Z-2 - radial engined airliner, this is rather rare. I've only ever seen two, this one and the one I'm building.

Italeri Heinkel He 111 H - going Spanish when I get the Merlins moulded.

Huma Heinkel He 280 - captured RAF

Well, you do buy more than just planes, which is not my case and i'm not into most bomber types so the Invaders are as far as i'll go down that route.
Remember that my stash is around 10% of some of our esteemed colleagues' stashes...  ;D and i know that this will be laughed at but, i'm almost done with the kit purchases...  i have almost every kit i really wanna build and i'm having a hard time justifying more kits, especially when i've been building just 2 or 3 a year...
I only have a few kits in my "to buy" list right now, the kinetic new Viper, the future Italeri 1/72 F-35C and maybe a P-61 to donate some bits to other builds... Other than those, i'll be waiting for new kits of the Boeing T-7A Red Hawk, the Chinese J-31 or 35, the BAE Tempest, the FCAS and NGAD future fighters.
There is also one kit i'd love to have but i know that won't happen and that's the Monogram Buck Rogers Starfighter but the prices asked for those on ebay are simply ridiculous so, i'll probably try to scratchbuild something similar at some point and call it a late variant of that Starfighter. ;D

😆 😂..stash wise ..mine would be about  .6 of a percent 😁
The kits I'm buying on calling future stock...get em while I can before I can't....prices being what they are ...mental.
As for what's left on my list ..it's not a long one but there is a P-61 on it .
I do love my twins so the Invader is there ..couple more Ju's ..another 88 and a 188 ...a F-35 is there along with a Harrier AV-8B .
As for bombers I've still got 2 Monogram ones..a B-17 and a B-24 which I'm gonna turn into one  ;)
I'd love to score a Henkel 219 but that's not likely..those are real ouchy to the pocket .
I've managed to score some  dream aircraft I've wanted for decades..a A20 Havoc..TA 154 and a Dornier DO335 ..scored a Beaufighter a little time back and a He162 .
That Buck Roger's fighter does sound like your best bet is to scratch built one mate..I haven't seen the prices but the way the guys describes prices these days it's freaking scary 😳
I glad I got my hands on the cars I have as those are hit and miss when it comes to buying and I've got a nice selection of parts .
One thing tho is my fav LHS..they buy collections and you just never know what ill find..so good for bits and bobs which help so much with wiffy building its brilliant..im going there again on Wednesday and we'll see what happens this time 😀
