Quote from: kerick on April 17, 2023, 08:15:10 PMI've picked up so many kits lately I don't know which to start with. A Razor Crest and a Wildcat at our club meeting. An F-80 and M-51 Isherman tank. A Korean tank bought from a club member. An Ecronoplane, an A-10, an Ertal P-40, a Tamiya Meteor, a Henkle Owl, a Lindberg Victor from venders and a CH-53 in the raffle.
Kitbash the CH-53 and Razorcrest

I never did like the nose of the Razor Crest. I think this one will be OOB but maybe later.......

I've always thought the Razorcrest needs stubby little wings spacing the engines out from the hull.  And that maybe the engines should pivot.

You mean it should be even more of a Firefly ripoff?

Until we get a 1/72 Firefly (with the gun mounted up top), yes.

Well the gun's just a stock ZU-23-2 mount IIRC, so even if they leave it off it should be easy to modify. Do you want the 'hood ornaments' too?  :o

Don't forget having a part with what's under the primary buffer panel.

EBay says I've won the AZ Buchon I was bidding on. It's the camouflage boxing and one option will be used for the example underway.

If you've not used Kora decals before, Gondor, they're nicely printed - but dot matrix, and sometimes it shows when you look closely.  I overpainted the yellow exercise stripes on my recent  MS.406 rebuild (https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?msg=995659), but shied away from overpainting the red national markings (IIRC the colour is denser).

Pretty much exactly what I was gonna say .
Least the ZU-23 and the Flak38 are kind close ammo size wise..the ZU is 23mm and the Flak28 20mm .
The Zu is just much more fun to shoot 😉

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

In the mail today .
1 x AMT Tomorrow is yesterday F-104 Starfigther with a mini model of the U.S.S. Enterprise.
The plans say 2016..my arse..this model is older than me I'll bet on it ..it was very cheap so it will sacrificed to the wiffy gods.
There's no saving this without a massive amount of work.

Quote from: DogfighterZen on April 18, 2023, 04:52:33 PMAlso waiting for couple of A-26 kits... the Italeri A-26B and Airfix A-26B/C kits.

Both delivered today...

The Airfix will probably be a real world PoAF bird and the Italeri will be converted to a B-26K but will be whiffed...
"Sticks and stones may break some bones but a 3.57's gonna blow your damn head off!!"

The Wooksta!

I'd whiff the Airfix one due to it's age and do t'other as OTL. The Italeri one is very nice, I gave mine to Martin as I have little interest in the majority of US aircraft.
