Quote from: Tophe on February 03, 2023, 11:48:16 PMthere is also a Northrop Grumman drone which is a twin-boomer (hurrah!)
Even if the Firebird drone was twin-boom, I may invent one more Twin-Firebird there: <_<

The parcel arrived today from China via Belgium to my France, one month in advance! <_<
This is very small, less than the size of a hand for each plastic bag:

I have opened the bags to see the content, then I kept the parts that may interest me (not weapons, not support pylon), then I put them back in the bag to start later the building and free my table (my hand for scale shows how small this is): <_<

I have started building the J-10Z, and I am glad this is taking shape quickly.
But... if I remove the connection parts, it will be fragile and requiring a lot of putty. I feel lazy and maybe I will make it less small: not truncated but normal length, not biplane but tandem wings, maybe. This is at least a temptation...

This model is so good (according to me) that I can mount one fuselage completely without glue, to compare with a truncated possibility:

Ahem, I think at last that I will take my courage on again and go back on the short/biplane possibility. The normal is far too long and even with tandem wings (of my invention) this would be not-enough-whif according to me...

Here are the two possibilities among which I am going to decide:

I will chose the short one, I think, because I have not room enough on my shelves. :-\

My decision has been (courageously): SHORT J-10Z!
Then I started to sand away the plastic connections then apply glue.

Then I have cut a little more the fuselage sides, ready to be glued to one another (and receive the lower wing):

Then final gluing into the model, ready for paint: <_<

The miracle is: zero PSR! The upper wing covers most imperfect joints! <_<

And today I am starting to paint the side above (before the final black pen for the canopy): :-\

Ahem: when I compare my model to the very truth, I fear I am almost a what-ifer:   :-\

To explain why my model is so imperfect, the main explanation is that I am not a good modeller at all but there is a little other explanation: it is so small that it is very uneasy to be correct:   :-\
