This will be the place for the 1950's GB vote when the time comes

Right Poll is set up and that's a few hours of my life I won't get back.

A bumper crop of entries for this GB and some difficult choices.  I've set the Poll up in strict order of appearance as they appear in the completed entries thread,. As decided in this year's Rules discussion you have up to 13 votes (40/3 rounded down to 13) and 10 days to vote in therefore the Poll will close at midnight Sunday 2nd July local.

I'd like to remind you that you don't have to use all 13 votes, but don't inadvertently try and use 14 because if you do you will almost certainly have to start again. That's the way the system works, or so I'm told Kit ?

Now I know this is stressed in the agreed rules from 2023 but can members please refrain from entering comments in the Completed Projects thread as this will make the Moderators job much simpler when it comes to setting the poll up.

Thank you for your patience and I'd like to thank a couple of members in particular for helping me out with some (read a lot) guidance on this. Thanks Tom and Dave

Chris

That's too many votes.  IMO it makes a mockery of the voting process.  I propose we cap the number in future polls to five.

For some reason, 13 was exactly the number I needed to vote without having to make any difficult choices for once.  ;)  ;D

I scrolled down the page scattering votes like confetti.  Only having five would have forced me to pick more carefully.

I agree, 10 should be the maximum and 5 would be ideal for such a large range (40 entries!).

Old Wombat

I kinda liked not having to chose between two builds I thought were equally worthy .... & I didn't use all my votes, just those I needed.

If you don't want to vote for 13 entries - don't, no-one's making you!

OK. Personally I to think it's far to many votes. However you the Membership discussed and agreed the formulae used when we spent ages discussing the new rules structure. So don't shoot the messenger.

Thirteen is a lot of votes. I used them all but I wonder if this will create the possibility of multiple ties.

It almost certainly will, but that to was discussed.

I found this an awkward task. Four entries were  "must vote for this one"   and another 24 were possibly deserving of a vote .   Still, it made me study every entry in detail, which is not a bad think.

That's certainly what I found, to my cost, in a recent GB Poll anyway.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
