My thoughts exactly!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

A new plan!

One of my original options for the F-80E was to finish it as a plane in the first operational unit of the Bundesluftwaffe: JaBoG 31 which was activated on 1. october 1957 at Büchel AB. But I was very much in doubt, as it would mean natural metal finish - and not much else. Then came Dizzyfugu along with his plans to build another F-80E - in West German colours, and that made up my mind to go for something completely different.

Other options on my list included planes from Norway, Denmark, Netherland, Belgium, Italy, Turkey - and Vive la France. All these countries received F-84s as part of the Mutual Defence Assistance Program.

But what if!

As Republic Aviation kept fighting with the problems, which again and again delayed the production of the new F-84F Thunderstreak, USAF decided to keep all the F-84Gs for its own use. Instead hordes of the Lockheed F-80Es were send overseas to allied nations.

Armée de l'Air (which in the real world got 48 F-84Es and 335 F-84Gs) received lots of F-80Es, which were distributed between 1., 3., 4., 9. and 11. Escadre de Chasse.

In 1953 a display unit made up of four F-80Es from E.C. 1/3 Navarre were established as Patrouille de France.

My Lockheed F-80E will be finished as a plane from that unit.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Looks like a baby brother for the Blackhawk F-90B.  ;)

I love the F-80E shapes!
I must confess that I'm usually not a fan of wing tip tanks and red or orange extremities - but I'll let it pass this time  ;D

The F-80E could indeed be a baby brother for the F-94. As they both had the same father: Kelly Johnson of Lockheeds Skunk Works
