Try a P-51b with the night fighter dual cockpit from a P-38M

You've got me thinking of a Mustang/BP Defiant mix now
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Total vision was possible without bubble (as on the Mitsubishi Zero): <_<

Last year, for a 2-seat Mustang, I made something similar, from a T-6 source (with its radial engine): <_<

The "Double Bubbles" from the Sea Fury trainers (either two single canopies or the connected alternative) could be an option for a P-51D base, too?

In this topic, there was already a double bubble:

But here is the new one:

The drawing above involved a pusher propeller because the nose seemed too loo to receive a propeller with ground clearance enough, but I may solve this problem without pusher prop (I am a what-if dreamer, not an engineer). For that, a 2-blade propeller, locked horizontal for landing, is OK. But for take off, uh... a parasite plane could make it, but not for a trainer. So I have chosen rockets at wing-tips, with still the preopller locked horizontal. Simply. ;)

Yes, I said several possibilities, because this version is improved (safety at take-off/landing and centering): ;)
