Anti-shipping role for F-16XL?

I've got an old Monogram 1/72 scale F-16XL kit in the stash. I just had the idea of building it into an aircraft with an anti-shipping role as I've got some Hasegawa weapon sets with extra Harpoon missiles in them.
But the question is what country to use the aircraft for?
I was thinking of the following countries, but I don't have any aircraft decals for them.
Anybody have any other thoughts about my aircraft idea?

Taiwan
Japan
Australia
New Zealand
Norway or Denmark (To help defend the Greenland-Iceland-UK gap.)
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Gulf States?

Switzerland?  (Kidding  ;D  )
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

There's always Iceland

It at least has a coastline.  That would actually be a good one in a Whif world where they have an Air Force.  Though I Imagine they would lean towards a two-engine platform.   Icelandic Jaguar with Agave radar and Sea Eagles??
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Speaking of which....Indian F-16XL?

Actually, I'd much rather prefer either Norway or Denmark for the aircraft. With a strong leaning toward Denmark.
I don't have a backstory thought out, but I figured Denmark would be looking for an F-16 variant with greater range to use for an anti-shipping role as well as regular fighter/interceptor defense.
Denmark wanted to establish a new military airfield on Greenland not just to defend it's colonial territory there, but also to use the F-16XL in an anti-shipping role to defend the Greenland-Iceland-UK gap from Soviet naval forces.

JASDF in the blue scheme as used on the F-2.

Of course you could make it anything you want as the kit is a whif-in-a-box as it's not
an accurate representation of the XL. The XL fuselage was lengthened but Monogram
missed where and how it was lengthened when they produced the kit. The result is
that the intake is too far forward and the main undercarriage bay too far aft. It's also
missing the kicked up rear fuselage.
;) ;D

Good info on the Monogram kit. Thanks. One of these days I'm going to combine a Hasegawa F-16 Sufa with an F-16XL for something that could have been RW.
I'm nuts.

Switzerland would  want to protect its territorial waters around Corsica and Sardinia.

Funnily enough, thats the exact scheme I was going to do for my XL2.

I wouldn't do NZ, although in a Euro1 scheme, it could look pretty cool.

The Japanese paint scheme looks really good. Anybody have an idea of what those paint colors would be?

Norwegian F-16s appeared to be overall light grey. Might have to spice that up a little.

Haven't they got the descriptive txts and the colour scheme drawings inverted there?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Clearly it needs to be an island nation, in a busy shipping region, where there is a strong possibility of conflict. They also need to have a good income and willingness to spend militarily.

I propose the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta

Of course, that means you will have a Maltese Falcon

Argentina.  Entering service in '81.
Time lines will need tweaking.
