Quote from: Weaver on March 22, 2023, 02:57:22 AMI've voted for 15. Obviously I've voted for those I proposed, and those which were similar to something I've proposed in the past. As for the rest, I've tried to avoid things that only appeal to a subset of the membership, e.g. aircraft-only subjects which would exclude armour/ship modellers.

Thanks for all your efforts Chris - much appreciated.

Agreed, thanks Chris.

Quote from: NARSES2 on March 22, 2023, 12:48:11 AMOn a serious note it's why I ask people to think about their ideas in terms of viability/practicality/likely popularity before submitting them. Doesn't seem to get through to all though. So far I reckon I've spent 7 hours sorting this years GB's out and there's more work to come. Can you tell I'm tired ?

Yep, know what you mean but again thanks for doing the necessary sifting.

Oh yes!  Apart from my suggestions, of course!  ;)

Space, Star Wars, Spaceplanes, and Sci Fi can probably be combined Chris.

15 votes wasn't enough.  I had to not vote for most of my suggestions.   :-\

Bloody good job putting it all together though.  Rather you than me.
In case we don't say it enough, thank you.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I'll probably do that when it comes to it.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I have 10 votes in and I would be seriously tempted to do them all ..every one sounds like fun and will get the brain working quite well  ;D

Thanks Chris for all your hard yakka mate..it's much appreciated
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

PR19_Kit

Done it now, with all 15 chosen.

Looking at the leaderboard, the current #1 should have been almost predictable, considering which forum we're actually in.  ;D  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Chris,

You have several "Racing" and several "Re-engined" themes in there.

I'm all for combining suggestions. Makes the voting easier later.
Just a suggestion, could we add Phantoms to the Buccaneer, Harrier and Jaguar GB? Assuming it makes the cut of course.

Yeah but the rules have to say that only stuff operating 100 km above the Earth is in space  ;)

I voted for this one and my initial thought on this suggestion was wholehearted support, because I picture UK Phantoms.  But the more I think the more I wonder if it dilutes the idea of it being a follow on to the LHC build.  Not totally against the idea but think scope should maybe keep it to the Spey Phantoms if it gets added in.  I think that could keep it a worthy successor to LHC.  I'd be in either way if it makes the cut but just throwing out thoughts.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Spey Phantoms would fit perfectly. Didn't RN Phantoms get transferred to the RAF like the Buccaneers?

TomZ

Possibly, but as far as racing was concerned I thought they were sufficiently different as to warrant their own theme ? Re-engined ? Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about engines what so ever and basically really didn't know if they were similar enough to be combined, and I'm being serious.

Again I'll have a look once I close the poll to see if there are any that can be combined.

I do try and pick up similar themes, but I'm afraid with initially well over 80 suggestions and some peoples "scatter gun" approach to making them it gets more and more difficult every year. Combine that with a couple of hospital appointments, putting the UK Groups Newsletter together and looking at the GB Rules proposals all at the same time and I'm afraid things got missed. The rules proposals are collated and I'll "publish" them once round 2 of the GB Poll is up, so no more suggestions please.

Sorry, no. The proposal was for the 3 specific aircraft and they are also British (Anglo/French in one case) designs in the same way as the LHC GB. It just makes it to different from the original proposal in my view.

Whilst I'm happy to consider merging similar subjects (which I probably should have done in the first place) when it comes to Round 2 I just feel adding something completely new alters a subject to much and if I do it for one I'll be getting "oh could you just add ******* to the so-and-so suggestion when it comes to Round 2.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

It's interesting on the wording of some of the suggestions during this stage of the polling especially around the 8-10% of the votes so far.
