The first for moderately sensible ideas for getting to, from & through space, & the second for any science fiction subject of whatever theme floats your starcruiser.

My thinking exactly, thanks gents

Makes sense.  But only if the GB is called the Space: The Final Frontier GB.  ;D
Why not just  GB 'Space the final frontier '?

NARSES2

Right that's the voting locked. I'll sort round 2 out over the next couple of days.

Probably settle for GB Titles of :-

1. Beyond the Earths Atmosphere - Any subject that concerns getting to, from and through space. Including space stations etc.

2. Science Fiction - Including Star Wars etc.

Yes, for me too, looks like a sensible choice.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Because it's not general enough. Using part of the opening speach from the opening titles of a well known T.V. sci-fi show would imply that entries should be linked to that shows and it's franchise.

Agree that 2 subjects sounds like a good plan.  Space and Sci-Fi seems to clarify it fairly well.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

JMN ALERT!
The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale has established that space begins at 100 kms (the Karman Line)  The U.S. government is resisting efforts to specify a precise regulatory boundary.

How about we leave the arguing until we see if this specific GB is selected?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

"Real Space" is a term used outside of here for current or credible near-future proposals, so why not call the first one "Real(ish) Space"?
The eligibility rule would be something along the lines of "must be based on technologies that are at least theoretically buildable using our current understanding of science". So chemical rockets are in (been done) nuclear-thermal rockets are in (been tested), nuclear detonation pulse rockets (i.e. propulsion by exploding nuclear bombs) are in (serious proposal - yes, really), faster-than-light drive and teleporters are out.

There's going to be no opinion out-of me on something I don't really have a great understanding of..yep I've heard of the drives that Weaver is talking about and we all know about FTL drives but that doesn't exist yet..or ever..ive no idea.
I'll wait until we get to arguing about the automotive side of things and the military side as well 😀

If it gets through then I'll leave that to the Moderators when they come to drafting the rules I'm afraid.
