Hehehehe I was wondering about that, but if I did the bomb bay would need to be deeper as they fold vertically when it's stowed aboard its carrier aircraft.

But maybe the wings don't need to fold, they didn't on the RW RF-84F of the FICON pairing and on Dave Sandiego's B-24/F-80 pairing eith

While I'm away from home for a few weeks I'm working on both potential escort fighters, the bomber itself is just TOO big to lug about!

The MPM XF-85 Goblin is an old kit, and the technology, or lack of it, shows! The styrene's a bit concrete like, and pretty thick, and it has alternate resin and styrene/PE cockpits. The Styrene/PE cockpit assembly is more complex but has more detail so I'm heading that way, keeping the resin bits handy in case it all goes t**s-up.

So here's one side of it assembled, complete with Reference Scale Hand. It's not the largest 1/72 scale kit on the planet........

Even the intake is a mixture of styrene and PE.

But both halves don't fit together at all well, note the hefty gap in the upper side of the nose.

 A hefty great ejector pin  mark exactly where the intake assembly should be glued!   
Mucho chopping and filing there of course.

The gap at the rear is, but the gap right at the front shouldn't be there, and now it isn't.

I'm working on the handling dollies for the two 'escorts' at the moment, and they both have their issues.

The X-13's main trailer is a ladder type device and each part is moulded separately and connected by halving joints, but this IS a Mach 2 kit so none of them fit and need copious 'adjustments', and there's over 40 of these joints. 

As you can see below I've managed to do eight of the joints so far. (sigh)  That's the main trailer 2nd down in the pic, the launch platform's the big flat bit above, and even that's got half a dozen of those joints too.

The X-13 itself is about done with its PSR and I expect to prime it today. The XF-85 Goblin is shown for reference, complete with its trailer, it really IS small! Each part of the Goblin's trailer is a separate part, and all have to be butt glued together, there's seventeen parts in the pic of it.......

If the bomber itself doesn't get finished before the end of the GB I can enter both of these in their own right, after a bit of pre-intended Whiffing of course.

I must have a thing about trailers, handling dollies etc. All of the really interesting builds I do seem to have them, to one extent or another.
Here's the trailer for the XF-85 Goblin completed, it's only got 22 parts to it! Getting those tri-angular supports for the Goblin's nose installed was a nightmare, there's no positive location for the bits, and even when they're all together they don't actually support the Goblin, they're too far apart! 

Further structural additions will be needed I'm sure.

After talking this through with Kit I've reposted some of his previous posts on his behalf. Apologies that they are not in date order, but it was far, far easier to do it this way then the way the site mechanics would have you do it.
