Well then, I would leave it the way it is. Nobody would notice and it's not worth tearing things up again. Of course it's your build so it's up to you. Just my $0.02.

Quote from: seadude on August 15, 2024, 11:50:04 AMJust now ordered the following parts from 3D-Wild website.

Now all I have to do is wait and wait and wait and...........Zzzzzzzzzz.  x_x
Anyway, after I get the parts, the first thing I'll work on will be adding that bulbous bow part to the bow of the ship. Got a feeling that's going to require a lot of PSR.  :o  :banghead:
Then I'll probably jump back to working on and finishing the island superstructure with the SPN-46 radars that it needs.
After that, I may start to tackle getting the flight deck ready and painting that. But not sure yet.

Got an email from 3D-Wild this morning. The parts I ordered are finally on their way!   I hope they don't come on Saturday when I'm away at a modeling contest.
So for right now, I'll continue to finish puttying, sanding, and detailing the port bow and starboard bow weapon sponsons I recently constructed.
Then I'll reconstruct the aft starboard weapon sponson as I made it too large.
And then once I get the 3D Wild parts, it's off to work on those.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

And the rebuilt aft starboard weapon sponson area has been finished. I needed to rebuild it as I felt it was too large.........or I should say, too long.
I needed to have slightly more flight deck parking space behind the island superstructure.
The only way to do that was to shrink the length of the aft starboard weapon sponson.
The pics below are pretty self explanatory. But if anybody has questions, then just ask.
Anyway, now that that's done, I'll go around and see what else needs "fixing" on the carrier that I screwed up on while I still wait for my 3D-Wild parts to arrive.

Just a small update on what's left to do for the carrier.
Parts that I ordered from 3D-Wild should be arriving on Monday according to USPS.
Other items to do:
Add SPN-46 radars from 3D-Wild website.
Add SMQ-11 radars from 3D Wild website
Add more Photoetch fire hoses and hatches
Need to buy and add photoetch flight deck edge safety nets.
Add Bulbous bow from 3D-Wild website.
Add SLQ-59 ECM from 3D-Wild?
Display case and base made.
Paint flight deck and add decals.
New flight deck tractors? Not sure yet where to buy from. Maybe 3D-Wild?
Add refueling hose reels along flight deck edge.
Add Mk.36 SRBOC chaff/flare decoy launchers and NULKA decoy launchers.
Assemble and add various aircraft for carrier. Not sure where to buy from. Maybe 3D-Wild?
Add four Mk.38 25mm chain guns. (They are already assembled and painted)
Add four arresting wires on flight deck.
Finish adding weapons to port and starboard aft weapon sponsons and bow weapon sponsons.
Continue to paint lower hull gray/blue as time moves along. But flight deck may not be painted till Spring when weather warms up.
Fix the flight deck area where the island superstructure sits as the island does not sit "level" on the flight deck.
Add white flight deck edge "bumpers".
And everything that you see in the below pic (From Post # 236 on Page 16 of this thread) needs to be added to the carrier. All of it is assembled and painted already.

Some amazing pieces there, and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to use clothes pegs as mini vices/clamps

I found half size clothes pegs/pins at a craft store. I cut the tips to an angle to make clamping easier and glued them to bamboo skewers to hold parts for painting.

Lots of work to do but it will be worth it. I think I would attach the bulbous bow first to lessen the chance of knocking other parts off.

I'm only "hoping" the bulbous bow part I ordered from 3D-Wild will fit on the bow of my Enterprise carrier.

I actually don't know if it will. I'm just taking a guess. It's mainly designed for Nimitz class carriers.
If it doesn't, then that's $25 I just spent down the drain. :(  I might be able to get it to work, but I bet it'll require a TON of PSR.  :o

It looks pretty straightforward so I wouldn't be too worried. Some PSR no doubt but it can't be too bad.

I picked up some of those as well. I also managed to get some wooden ones that are 35mm in length from a local fancy gift type shop last Xmas. Obviously intended to attach cards to a string, but very useful for holding small items.

Captain Canada

I'm liking the extra parking space. Looks good like that. Maybe you could move the landing tower outboard a bit more to gain even more space ? Looks farther out in the pic above.

Talk about a major screwup.  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:
That's $25 I just wasted on buying a 3D printed bulbous bow part that i "thought" would work, but won't.
If anybody needs to see better or larger pics, I'll have to post those tomorrow.
