So I'll be starting another new large ship model project: A USS United States CVN-90 aircraft carrier which is described here:
https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=51654.0
But I'm a bit undecided if I should stick with a classic lower red hull for the carrier or paint it blue like I did for my previous USS Wisconsin battleship.
See example pics below of red and blue hulled ships I've built.
Since the carrier I am building is another what if advanced future ship just like my Wisconsin battleship, it might make sense to paint the lower hull blue.
But anyway, what are everybody else's thoughts?
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Personally, I prefer the "traditional" red anti-fouling   but if the blue is appreciably more efficient I've nothing against it.  It's just the unexpectedness of it.

Which anti-fouling coating would be more effective and eco-friendly?
As it is a "future build" you can pick a material that you like best.

I've seen both of those models and it's a tough choice! If you are going for a futuristic build I might go with the blue just to be different. It will be cool either way.

I'm a traditionalist but, as the USN is currently using blue anti-fouling paint & this is a relatively-near-future vessel, I say go with the blue.

To the best of my knowledge and searching, the TICONDEROGA class cruiser USS Port Royal was the ONLY US Navy ship to get this new experimental anti-fouling coating. I haven't seen or heard of any other US Navy ships that got it. It was only a new experimental coating to prevent sea life from attaching to the hull and it was supposed to be more eco-friendly.

Well, eco-friendly is all the rage, these days & for the foreseeable future. ;)

I'm no expert on USN anti-fouling paint & was going by a very quick look at images where I could see the anti-fouling on modern US ships at sea, most of which must have been Ticonderoga's.

I've locked voting for this poll. I've made up my mind long ago to paint the hull on my carrier model blue.
