Seen in a hobby shop at the weekend, manufactured by an outfit called 4D Model and selling for around £7.  And no, I didn't.  Not even out of curiosity.

:o it COULD be interesting to see what is actually in the boxes. Maybe.  :o

Going by Scalemates, it's actually a Spitfire. And going by the picture on the page for the produce, you saved yourself some money to spend on something else.

If i'm thinking of the same company 4D model are a Chinese outfit who specialise in knocking off other people's moulds.
I'm pretty sure a number of my Eggplanes were (badly) made by them from Hasegawa originals.  They were pre"painted" and decorated (badly) and one of them was shortshot with a lot of the nose missing (very obviously - so no QC was done).

I have seen 1:72 tank models from 4D. and these looked HORRIBLE - with the same ugly 1-piece running gear used on several models (which do not use that type of torsion bar suspension at all). Maybe things evolved since then, but I would not have high hopes.

If they can't get the label on the box right I just try to imagine the mess inside.

As some people cant follow links, below is the picture from the Scalemates web page on the kit.

This is one of the worse kits I have ever need, Lee will probably be able to make a very long list of problems with it.

Probably easier to say that it bares a very slight passing resemblance to a Spitfire.

What if they actually built some like that?
