Also available as a Revell re-boxing, but these things tend to be pricey.

Possibly not, as IIRC Colin has outside contractors to do the casting and they are delivered as complete sets.  It depends on how the mould is broken down, it may just have all the parts cast in the same block.

Ironically, I have a set of moulds for the spinners based on TsrJoe's 2003 Eagle Tempest conversion.  I know I have a mould for a Seafire Griffon contra prop.

I won't need spinners for my contra-prop idea..........................  ;)  ;)  ;D  ;D

Merlin and Griffon props turn opposite ways. Right?

Most of them do, some Merlins rotated Griffon-wards, the starboard ones of a DH Hornet for instance.

Hmm, actually that's not 100% correct, the Hornet's starboard ENGINE rotates the same way as the port one, but there's an extra gear between the engine and the prop to ensure it goes the OTHER way. And the cowling is a tiny bit longer to accommodate the gear too.

I may have the contra-props from the Valom Fisher P-75 I converted to the Wren Type 6 in the spare parts bin if I can find them

A few that have been mentioned so you can see blade types.  Sea Fury for scale.

The 1/72 Revell Gannet on the left has nice blades and cuffs.

Enter that in a show diorama class as a "Where old models go to die" shot.

A very nice man has solved my contra-prop problem for me as he has JUST the one I need.

Thanks for all the advice gentlemen, I'll keep it all in mind as I could get hooked on contra-props.

Why contra props?
Is it to do with reducing the torque of a single big prop?

Of course one can always scratchbuild like i did here.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Not exactly, it's more because I've not seen a setup quite like this before. I have with single props, but not with contras.  ;)

In the RW, yes, but there is also the issue of the length of the blades to be considered, a single big prop has very l-o-n-g blades, which may mean engineering ridiculously long & potentially fragile landing gear legs to have them clear the ground.

I've been wanting to use contra props for many yrs even before I gave up building planes and now im building them again contras have raised their ugly heads again.
Even brought a model just cause it has contra blades and trying to mold my own is to expensive here..the cheap molding kits here are still near a hundred bucks a pop ..it's an annoying problem this one 🙄
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
