No motorkanone.

The Italeri Me.110 kit was a nightfighter and had no other exhausts.  I used them though because I liked the look of them.  I've never been keen on the standard Me.110s "zoomy headers".

Looking very good indeed 👌 👍 😀
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

killnoizer

It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

Thanks folks.

Nearly finished.  Just got to attach additional wing weapons, touch up some paint, and write a load of bollocks for the backstory.

Messerschultz Me 109-J5 Dreistörer

Me 109 Dreistörer - 13 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

When the great air fleets of the Mediterrorean free anarchies required long range fighter escorts to protect them on their drive to project revenge, retribution, justice and freedom into the heart of the Polish Mechtocratic Empiricum they did as their fathers and their forefather before them had done and turned to mercenary skyclans.
Driven from their homeland by the Empiricum during the Purgeric Expulsions of the Spring of Blades the proud warriors of the Himmelreitter Fliegende Teufel welcomed with open arms the chance to strike back against those who had driven them to the very edges of what had once been the Holy German Empire.

A single seat general purpose heavy fighter from the great floating megopolis of Tanganyikatown, the Messerschultz Me 109-J (Joaquin) Dreistörer was powered by three Deutscher-Burundi DB 605 engines.  The J5 variant was optimised for high altitude operation from the flying carriers of the Tuniso-Libyan Sky Whale cohort with three stage supercharged engines, pressurised cockpit, heavy duty undercarriages, and an arrestor hook.  Folding wings were not deemed necessary due to there being no shortage of space inside the Sky Whales' hanger decks.

Me 109 Dreistörer - 7 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

Fixed armament on the J5 was a pair of synchronised Vektor SS-34 20mm motorkanone mounted in front of the cockpit firing through the centre propellor.  Other variants had twin synchronised guns on top of the wing nacelles and some even had up to three larger motorkanones firing through the propellor hubs.  The J5 sacrificed fixed weapons for speed and range but had hardpoints under the outer wings for additional weapons should they be required.
Fitted for night interception missions, the aircraft pictured here is fitted with a pair of 85mm Sternenlicht-Raketenkanone starshell guns.  Dreistörers thus fitted would be guided to Empiricum skyfleets by the Sky Whale's radar, before climbing above them and illuminating them with starshell rockets for the waiting Nachtkämpferschwarms which would fall upon them like the Golden Horde upon an unsuspecting township.

The concept of the close coupled trimotor heavy fighter proved very popular in the second third of the Twentieth Century with, as we shall see, a plethora of similar designs being produced by various manufactories, factropoli, enginerring guilds, engineering states, state engineering bureaus, and assorted aeronauticalities across the Mediterrorean free anarchies, the Polish Mechtocratic Empiricum, the Amorican Cofederation, and many of the other varied sociopoliticanisational pseudo nations scattered across the disc we call home.

That's sweet!

Story's good, too, but my brain was having a bit of trouble decyphering/pronouncing various words & phrases.

I know what you mean my brain kept thinking of Mongols, Tartars and the Byzantine Empire  ;)

I had to shake my head sideways to get rid of the excess of syllables after reading the magnificent back story.  ;D

Both it and the model are SUPERB! Nice one Fred.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
