But they only built a wind tunnel model, it's 1.2 metres long, and you're modelling the REAL thing..................  ;)

Quote from: NARSES2 on August 01, 2023, 05:51:56 AMI discovered that I don't have a 110 in the stash ?   Could have sworn I had. Never mind it's something to look out for next show I'm at.
Chris the Italeri Me110 in 72nd is worth looking out for..it's super cheap and good for wiffery and it's quite a nice kit too 👌

That's the one I thought I had ? Although it was the nightfighter version, must have sold it on

Probably go for an Airfix or Eduard E so I can combine with an E 109 for a BoB era, or just later version.
Not bragging but I've got 3 Eduard 109s..E1..E3 and a G4.. now and they are the weekend edition but mate they are beautiful kits..well worth the coin 😉 👍

I'm not bragging either but i've got two 1/72 Eduard Me 110s.  They are also beautifull.  I hesitate to whiff them (other than paint whiffs) but one will probably get the chop.  Either as a single seat fighter or an asymmetric two seater.

Still not bragging but I've got A Eduard Me  110 in 48th and it's a profipack one and I know exactly what you mean Fred...they're just so damn nice ya just don't want to hack one..even thou a single seater ain't hacking one to badly and I do like the sound of that .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I've been tempted on ocaision by the various boxings, but been put off by the fear that some of the earlier Eduard kits can be very fiddly builds.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I was amazed at how many bits there are in the 48th version I have...it's bloody scary 😳

Many, many moons ago I modified the Fujimi 1/48th Me 110 into a two seat night-fighter with retractable oblique
guns. I used the quad .50 guns from the turret for the Monogram P-61, they were pivoted to come up through the
top of the fuselage. The new section replaced the rear section of the cockpit and the aft canopy. I cut slots for the
gun barrels and made minor modifications to the guns to make the M2s look more like the 13mm MG 131.

The notion was that the retractable guns would allow for the aircraft to operate at a higher speed and that four MG
131 firing a combination of ball, explosive and incendiary ammunition at a high-rate of fire from large ammo tanks
would produce a heavy enough volume of fire to still be effective. The higher speed allowing for more interceptions
on a single sortie.

Dear Zenrat.

Only good ideas are worth to copy them ,  and so i hope you enjoy my first build with props , started by your Dreistörer

At the planning of the build and the search for all the props i never used i found a wreck of a FW 190 , and so it became that instead of a 109 .

You cannot view this attachment.

Will start a new Thread for that .

Thank you very much and carry on !

It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

Built it around 1980 and it's long gone.

Shame.

I wonder if they ever trialled the Me-410 barbettes on a Me-110?

Quote from: zenrat on August 01, 2023, 04:21:58 AMI glued the tail parts on today so we'll have no more heretical talk of longer fuselage or bigger tail surfaces.

Well there goes about 98% of what I was going to comment with...  ;D

Very interesting, looking forward to seeing it finished.

Me too.   ;)

Seriously though, the tail surfaces are too small in comparison with the wings and i'd change them if I was taking this seriously...

...but i'm not, i'm just having fun, so they stay.

Well see if this changes your mind on that:

Split the 110's tailplane in half, cut out some of the elevators so the 109's rudder can move, and then it would be triple engine and triple fin's.

Hmmmmmmm, we'll see.  You have got me thinking about it...

Sanding today.  First stage PSR mostly levelled and then I glued on an intake under the centre engine.
