Only a matter of time...

Hahaha yep  ;D  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Quote from: Rick Lowe on September 04, 2023, 01:28:45 AMUm... is it the camera angle, or my eyes, or does the fuselage look a bit... kinked, behind the wing?

Where exactly? I could understand that the area in front of the wings is not 100% straight, because of the plug, but the section behind the wings id actually the originally hull, just sliced up with long cuts to raise the tail to roof level and widen the flanks to the front fuselage sides width. Plastic wedges have been inserted to compensate, with lots of PSR, maybe this causes the impression?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Sorry mate but looking at this pic it looks like the nose is slightly pointing to the left as we look at it (to the right from the pilots seat).  I hate it when I miss something like this.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Agree, and I'd say the angle is just at the leading edge of the wing.

Then again - there's a lot of stuff in the background, so maybe if seen over a linear pattern..?
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

I'll check it, but it's possible that it isn't perfectly straight! However, the brown plasticard roof behind the cockpit is not prefectly centered and the hull shape heavily PSRed. It could also be a trick through the light from the right.  ;D

I've been looking because I saw the same thing & I thought it was mostly an optical illusion caused by the off-centre brown roof panel until I held a straight edge up to the image, down the centre of the tail, along the fuselage seam and down through the nose - which does seem to be kinked to the viewer's left in the image.

There is the story of the "Frankenherc". A USAF C-130 that was a combo of wings off of one wrecked Herc and the fuselage off another. Never did fly straight. That's the story anyway.

It appears there is some truth to the story.

Sorry if I caused any offence Dizzy, but having been through similar issues, I thought you'd want to know before it's too late - it's never pretty when you have the paint on and only then notice such issues... don't ask me how I know this (tm & copyright zenrat)

I hesitated to point out the pic but I also rationalised it by thinking that if it was my build then I would want to know before it was too late.

Same, but I'm holding out hope that the build wasn't quite centred & vertical in the photo.

I checked the hull, and the cockpit section is not 100% straight. Did not notice that, and it is only obvious when you look along the flanks (just as in the frontal shot). I think that this happened thorugh the inserted bulkhead and the lack of seams that helped align the areas behind it. However, I will leave it this way, because I'd have to re-PSR the whole front end and the wings/engines are already in place, so that it would be twice as complicated.

However, the fuether build stalled at the moment.

No problem, and no perceived offence at all!  ;D  The fuselage is not 100% straight, but I did not notice it, despite several checks when I glued the thing together. If you look independently at models, you easily notice things that might be fishy with a fresh/neutral look...

Didn't some aircraft have deliberately "kinked"/off centre fuselages for various directional stability issues ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
