Ford Scorpio Coupe

I haven't been able to find any information whether Ford of Europe ever considered making a three door hatchback of the Scorpio, I do know that there was the Ford Granada Coupe and that a few people have modified them into hatchbacks.
So could it be as simple as buying the resin body of the Scorpio five door hatchback and a Granada Coupe,  then taking casting from the Scorpio and adding them onto the Coupe or reducing the the bodyshell of the Scorpio.
I tried filling in the rear door of a die-cast Rover SD1 which is an ongoing project of mine which seems to work
 The idea came from the American Ford Mustang which over the years has changed it's shape so why not the Ford Capri, that could have used various European models even ending up as a Mondeo.
