This build is pushing me more and more towards my weird one and yep it's a Junkers too ..but starting with a 88 P1 ...it won't be a P1 tho..no 75mm cannon on this..felt very strange typing that 🤔 😀

Yuh, it'll probably be an 8.8 cm Kampfwagenkanone 36 (8.8 cm KwK 36) or, just as likely, a 24 cm Kanone 3 (24 cm K 3).  ;)

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I'd start with a G airframe.  The bigger fin and rudder will be helpful and the option of more powerful engines, either the Jumo 213 or better, the BMW 801, is there.  The Ju 88P was underpowered carrying the 75mm and I've never seen anything on the performance of the solitary prototype that flew with an 88mm, but I doubt it would have been fast.

Away from my references, but there were only a handful of Ju 88Ps, not all of them had the 75mm either.  IIRC there was one with a pair of 37mms in a shortened gondola.

Getting back to my 588.....................  ;D

The undersides are now painted in a near equivalent to RLM 74, and I've started to apply the very complex masking set for the canopy. That's SUCH a weird shape that most of the masks have the centres cut out so they'll curve properly and I'll need a smidgeon of masking fluid to fill the gaps.

Which begs a question, can you apply a coat of Klear OVER masking fluid, or will I have to Klear the mask edges before applying the fluid?

I'd Klear the edges first. Mind you I'd probably use scraps of tape rather than masking fluid.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

It's getting them to bend/fold over those crazily curved panels that's the problem.

I tend to agree with you about the Klear too, thanks.

Even more weird Guy...no big guns ..none at all 😆
There might be a cannon pack under the nose possibly but since I'm using a G6 night figther as the starting point there's already guns there .
And the radar to come to think of it 🤔 😀
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I've had a bit of a pause with the 588 just now, but I have got all the masking in place, and what a fiddly job that is! Quite why those WWII German engineers loved those multi faceted canopies I don't know, but it sure keeps the mask manufacturers in business.

This is a bit out of focus, but it shows the nuances of it anyway. One little masklet will need hand cutting as I screwed up applying the original, but such is life.

So glad I didn't have to do that  :o
Very nice work on that mate 👍

That's giving me flashbacks of masking the Fw-189 canopy - or the front part of it, anyway, as I painted over the rest.
Though I still have a Bv-141 to do... eek.  :o

The Wooksta!

I did three 141s together, as well as an He 111 and a Ju 86 (sounds simple but a lot of small panels).

PR19_Kit

It was doing my 'symmetrical' 141 with the prop in the middle that persuaded me to go the commercial mask route for this and the He-119.

More than I want to face at the moment...  :o

Not something I'm likely to repeat in a hurry.  I'll be stocking on Eduard masks for the next bunch.  Still fancy a post war Spanish one in either overall Aluminium or three colour splinter in the pre war Luftwaffe colours.

One of these in a multi tone aluminum paint scheme would look pretty damn good Lee 👍
