I was planning on going OOB, with thoughts of turbines. Being a perennial non finisher, that's usually a good move. I decided to build it up this far, and have a think.
OOB Pros - I like to play with my toys, and can only imagine the enjoyment I'd get out of replicating the sound of those big radials as she takes off under load.
-might actually get done
Cons- part of the landing gear already broken.
-not much modernization potential with gasoline and that clunky, drag producing landing gear.

So it's settled. Retractable gear, turbines, radar, and a refueling probe. Probably camo.

Somewhere I have a picture of myself standing beside one. Might have been 1960 or '61, possibly at RAF North Weald. It was BIG!

Tell me about it! I've flown more than a few hours in various Bevs. The rear access 'hole' is 10 ft square!

JESUS!! I had no idea! We have an Argosy near my school, next time I'm there (it's part of a cafe and bar) I'll try and visualise a Bev in its place.

It just wouldn't look right with big, long turbine engines sticking out past the cockpit, so this had to happen.
