All the bits, minus one box as it wouldn't fit

The build will consist of

1 x Hasegawa Single seat Jaguar
1 x Airwavws Droped flaps set
1 x eduard GR Mk.1 etch set
1 x SAC undercarriage set
1 x Air-Graphics Jaguar Clear Resin Nose
1 x Air-Graphics Jaguar Cockpit set
1 x Reskit Jaguar Exhaust Nozzles
1 x Reskit Jaguar wheel set
1 x Airfix Jaguar Reconnaissance pod

and the kitchen sink is staying in the kitchen.  ;D

Slight problem with the wing. Now I know why I was able to get it so cheap from eBay  :-\

Warm water and clothes pegs should sort that although I have never had to deal with such a bad trist befor. I have at least one pair of clothes pegs that are minus their springs so the outer surface should be flat enough when used against the surface of the wings and then clamped to help hold them flat with other clamps.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Some strange wingtip aerodynamics?

I enjoyed my build of that kit.

Mine had ailerons rather than wing warping though.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Started trying to adjust the wings to a more convential shape

It's the first time I have done this. I held the now clamped wingtip in the steam from my kettle then placed within the inverted clotes peg parts and applied another clap to help everything in place.

Hopefully there was enough heat mate..if so then it should work nicely..that's if the damn stuff doesn't have a memory.

The resin parts have been primed after I cleaned them up a bit. The exhausts had the tube parts seperated from the casting black but I didn't bother doing that with the actual exhaust rings and petals as it was easier to keep them attached to the peice of wood I tape items to for spraying while still on the blocks than if they had be separate because they would have been much smaller.

I checked prior to priming the exhaust if I could fit them to the fuselage halfs after the fuselage was glued together. Nope, they can't which is a pity as nothing else is really going to happen untill all the resin is painted and in place which means I could loose mojo without progress.

Tomorrow I will be painting again as well as some priming if its not raining. White this time as it was Grey today. The main intakes have been mounted on their stick along with a pair of Aerocraft Vulcan intakes which need priming. Hope to get the Appliance White on all of them as well tomorrow.
Following instructions from Thorvic many moons ago, and seeing that this will be a production machine I have pulled out Humbrol 185 from the relevant storage box ready to apply to the interior tomorrow.

Some more work done on this.

The exhaust parts were painted.

They are near the back left corner of the picture and have had a coat of Humbrol 53 on them, other colours will be applied later, the 53 is acting as a base and shadow for the parts, or rather, that is the intent.

Finally managed to do something more with this! I did a little dry brushing of the parts for the exhausts. I know, not much but its better than nothing and as the weather has not been nice I have have not felt like doing much. As always I hope do do more, next should be dry brushing and adding detail to the cockpit.

A little more dry brushing with light grey today and fitting of the flame holders for the afterburners. It was a little odd, and I wish some other etch manufacturers did the same, the sheet of etch has a low tac clear film over both sides to stop the possibility of either of the parts from comming loose and getting lost. Only problem I had was trying to find an edge to peal it off from. As each side was one continuous sheet of transparent material it had to have been applied after the stching had taken place.

Both are held in place for now with 'Formula 560' and will be superglued in place once painted and the next section of the exhaust is added to the two parts in the picture.

The dry brushing also extended to the cockpit

Although I think a dark wash might be a good idea. Next up was the ejector seat...

Obviously I still need to paint some more of the seat, but it's a lot further than it was.

Way back in the mist of time, otherwise know as December, I was putting the engine exhausts together for this build.

Well now I have completed them, and only ten days to the end og the Group Build

So pictures to show that progress has been made.

Previously on "A Cat by any other Name" .......... Otherwise know as the top of my previous post, I had put the flame holders in the part of the RESKIT exhaust assembly that represented the rear of the engine, later and off thread I attached the next section of the exhaust which was a tube. Now RESKIT are very good with these exhaust parts, each part is keyed, you have to be careful and test fit the parts to make sure you are fitting them together correctly though, I nearly came a cropper with one of the exhausts earlier today due to not makeing sure I was fitting things absolutly right.

Anyway, pictures.

On the right of the picture you can see how far I had got untill today, then on the left you can see the petals fitted. Both exhausts are showing the key between the first two sections quite clearily.

The picture below shows a lesson learned from the first exhaust. The parts are as the above picture with the outer shroud loose over the petals with the tab and notch's marked with a pen so that when I glue them together I get them the right way around first go

And the completed exhaust!

Next up was trying to fit the exhaust into the rear of the cat  :o

Not going to happen as the hole wan't big enough!     And no sniggering at the back!

A few swipes with a half round file later and the result as seen for the other fuselage half.

At this moment the fuselage halfs are glued together and drying. So progress has been made, way too late to meet the extended deadline but so what. I am enjoying what I am doing at the moment which is the main thing.
