Rick apart from the large gash and the big flap of skin I just wrapped it in a rag I was using to clean the greese and dirt of my hands and got on with what I was doing .
I had to put plasters on it when the rag got to bloody.
Finished what I was doing..cleaned the wound and replaced the plasters ..had to do that 2 more times that day ..it bled alot ..it's stopped now  ;D
Worked today without an issues...still freaking sore tho but that's to be expected.

Was it one of those wounds where you think "that could probably do with a stitch or two" and then don't bother?

Some progress today (without shedding anymore blood).  Both sides of the lower phuselage now have slots cut out ready for sections of tube to inserted (when I decide where the UC bays will be).  Two lengths of hefty I section plastrut are also glued in along the inside of the belly plate as reinforcement to hold it all together when I cut the spine off.
I also reshaped the splitter plates and added shock cones to the intakes.  The fit of the intakes to the phuselage is as abysmal as I expected it to be.

Had one or two of those in my time. Hope your both ok lads and thanks for making the required offering to the Gods on the collectives behalf  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

You probably have an excellent alternative to stitches on your desk already. After all, that's what superglue was first developed for. Plus it's waterproof to an extent!

Fred it probably could have used a stitch or four but if it was serious enough I'd have done that myself..done it before..probably do it again  ;D
I just closed the wound by folding the skin back into place ..that will seal the wound until that skin dies and new skin takes its place underneath.
Then I'll cut away the dead skin and no long after then it will look semi normal again .
There will be scaring for sure ..just another one to go with all the rest

Yeah, Superglue was originally a Surgical Glue... it still stings a bit, though...

Mine wasn't modeling based..I was ripping to bits a Bosch extendable cordless hedge trimmer ..was drilling out a stainless steel revet and the drill decided it got bored and wanted to leave..so it did..thru my finger  ;D

Years back when I was in construction we were working on the bosses rental properties during a quiet period.  The foreman and I (the safety officer) were fixing a step.  Tony was putting in screws and leaning his weight on the drill as you do when your screwdriver bits are worn and you want them to stop slipping.  He had his other hand on the timber supporting himself when the drill slipped and he put the screwdriver bit right through the webbing between his thumb and forefinger...

After swearing profusely he refused my first aid, wrapped it in a rag until it stopped bleeding, had a smoke, put a couple of plasters on it (he was also a trained first aider) and we finished the job.

What no insulation tape, that is the normal go to for this kind of maiming injury  ;D

Fred what you are building sounds pretty intesting... having trouble getting my head around how it looks though...
Sure it will be splendiferous

Me too.

Got the main UC bay construction completed today.  Next stage is to remove the Phantoms spine and tail cone and hope what remains doesn't fall apart.
