Built this for my mate Tony for his soon to get very large WW2 German collection .

Now im still learning to paint figures better ...Tone loves it ,,reckons its brilliant ..i myself dont think its that bad but not that great either .
Course i wasnt going to leave it untouched ..so i modified one of his arms to bring it down to hold a canteen from a Dragon 1/16th figure ,,,well the remains of a Dragon figure set anyway  ;D

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

"Spose so"  ;)

Come out well mate

Now after reading about something in the news this morning (the auction of one of Napoleon's bicorns) and seeing the top image my mind goes to a wiff conversion by adding a suitably scaled head of Napoleon to that figure and calling in "Napoleon at the Pyramids 1942" ?

You'll need a companion figure - Rear Admiral Sir Horatio Nelson aboard his flagship, the battleship HMS Vanguard

And Wellington (or Arthur Wellesley as he would of been at the time) peering out of Grant tank turret binoculars in hand  ;D

Yup approx £1.7m. Original estimates were £500K. to £600K The jokes that he supposedly had somewhere near 120 during his career and saw them as part of his "brand" so to speak, especially wearing them sideways. A fair number survived and are in private hands. I've not looked but the provenance on this one must have been special for it to get to £1.7m. Or it could just have been the ruckus caused by the new Ridley Scott film ?

He had a pile of em for sure and today's world being what it is that new movie could have had a big influence on its price 🤔

Nice.

I'd have been tempted to leave a glossy finish and mount the figure on a shiny pole like a carousel horse.
