Training Shrimp crews out there had to be SUCH hard work of course......  ;)

How about OO Model Railway figures?

Oooooh, I never thought of either of those solution, thanks both of you.

Now where can I find a Hase Rufe? I bet they're all extinct by now.

The Shrimp's got its canopy fairing now, and the taller fin (a bit taller anyway) and I'll probably glue the wings on later today. The wing spars are a tad too deep so the wings sit proud of the upper fuselage if you build it OOB, but I've filed the upper surface of the spars down a bit so the wings fit flush now.

One thing that's a bit of a mystery with the instructions, they don't ever mention any possibility of building it with the tip floats retracted, and yet it's shown like that in one of the diagrams! It's an immensely complicated retraction system as the float makes a complete 180 degree turn before folding into the lower wing surface.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yup. I think the guy drawing up the instructions simply gave up and went down the pub  ;)  :drink:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I might build it with one float out, and one retracted, even if that'd be unlikely in the RW.

Just to see how it'd work of course.  ;D

You'd just need a figure of a groundcrewman scratching his head

On a beaching trolley, with a group of  head scratching erks staring at one of the  floats is a wonderful idea.    Well imagined, Chris!

Yes, I do like that! Now to find some erk figures................

Why not half in and half out rather than retracted, would definitely be something for the erk's to be scratching their heads over.

That would need a LOT of work on the retraction struts etc. Whereas with one in and one out, I'd just leave the struts off on the retracted one.

Dont forget one hanging off a crow bar vainly attempting to unstick the float. :-X

Sounds like I'll need a cast of thousands! It's turning into a proper diorama, and I haven't even finished the PSR yet!
