Hang on, are you painting the details before spraying the model in its actual colour? Or is what looks like a preshade coat its actual colour?

I think you've overdone it, TBH. The highlights are too light compared to the dark "base," so IMHO you've ended up with a model that looks like you preshaded it but forgot to add a translucent coat of the "real" colour over it.
