Quote from: Wardukw on September 24, 2024, 05:35:52 PMI bit the bullet..I got another Viggen..a 48th Italeri JA37 / AJ37 SAAB Viggen...I had to guys..there was to much talk about it ...temptation got the better of me  ;D

So does it have the proper parts and markings to go with the JA/AJ versions? If not we have the experts to help correct it. Unless your just going to whiff it anyway!
Oh I'm pretty sure Ken me ol mate that wiffery will show it's face
But it does say JA/AJ on the box mate so it's possible it is .
But I would say wiffery is pretty much a certainty..just had an idea but I'm gonna look at a couple of things once I get this in my hands  ;)

I've got to get back to finish things mode and apply the decals to the F-104/Viggen combo and the kitbashed Firespotter. The junkyard dog only has a few parts to attach yet and then it's the Biraider to finish also.
Kinda same here ...the new chopper for the heli carrier..the project I'm playing with at the mo ..my biggest problem right now is painting..Ive got quite a lot of it to do but man the groove ain't there ..like ive been trying to paint this Tyranid mutant carnifex thing I built ...so want to but damn mate 😕

Painting can be a real chore, especially when the organic chemistry won't cooperate. I've returned to using enamels with good results. If I try acrylics again we'll see what happens.
I paint with pretty much nothing but acrylics Ken ..the new stuff is great to work with and covers nicely ..the Army painter 2 paints are said to be much better than the first series of Army Painter paints and I'm interested to try a couple of em ...my interest is peaked .

Never heard of that brand. Is it from down under?

No not at all matey...much closer to your neck of the woods..Denmark is where there from and their first paints weren't great at all but after a few of very knowledgeable youtube figure painters tested the paints Army Painter went back sorted em out..there much better now 😀

That explains it. I'm not into gaming so I'm sure I missed it.

I've bought the Rail King League Lines Classic Freight Set at a ridiculous low price on TEMU, yes its a battery powered AA x2 plastic and metal toy train set with a light in the locomotive.
My plan is to buy the Dapol/Kitmaster Schools Class locomotive and use the running gear from the cheap locomotive to power it. I know that there's differences between this and the Hall class but with a coat of red paint  and some handmade decals it serve its purpose.

The Wooksta!

Collected the Mach Two Ju 352.  It included a build article but having built one already - and corrected things the author hadn't noticed - it's simply an amusing extra.

Just bought on eBay the Airfix Shorts Sunderland built and painted, no propellers and no beaching gear.
Having seen a photo of the Shorts Hythe an amphibious version with twin tail fins. I did raise the question what if the US NAVY had used the Sunderland during WWII and the artwork produced has inspired me.

The Rat

One of our locals had a tragedy, their storage facility out in Burlington suffered a flood, if I overheard them correctly there was over $35,000 of stock that got soaked. Now they're gently disassembling ruined kit boxes and bagging them. Many are, understandably, sans decals, but I don't think that's ever stopped anyone in our genre!  ;D  Grabbed a Fujimi 1/48th P-51 for $3.85, no idea what I'm going to do with it, but the price was right. Might head back next week and grab some more bargains. Main target was Tamiya Fine White Primer, you may have heard that Tamiya spray cans are now banned in Canada. Fortunately they still have a large stock so I got two.

Received another Heller JA37 Viggen today, and while at it, bid and to my surprise won a Marivox Sk60. The Viggen might be whiffed into a SAAB 37E Eurofighter (google it) and as such operated by one of the potential takers. There were a few, actually.

The Sk60, I don't really know, but it seems a bit dull just building it Austrian. I shall mull on it for a bit while finishing other stuff.

Timing matey  ;D  ;D  cause today my Italeri JA37 Viggen came in the mail 😀
It's going to get a two seat conversion and I think it's gonna look cool ...once I do a wee bit of profiling just to make sure the lines look good  <_<

Dapol/Kitmaster Schools Class locomotive plastic model kit.
A pair of Triang 00 gauge  Blue Pullmans one power car that works and the dummy power car. Not from the same set, two different sellers.

I was ordered not to buy any "plastic" by SWMBO before going to the SA Plastic Model Expo this weekend .......................... :-\

I tried not to! Honest!

Genuine not plastic kit buys:

1 x Firestorm 1/35 Aust, Army Formation Signs WW2 [waterslide decals] (FS35163) - in case the identical set of dry transfers don't work under my ham fisted application
1 x Aber 1/35 Grilles for Tiger Porsche [Dragon Models] (35G17) - just good general purpose grilles
1 x Aber 1/35 Grilles for Panther Ausf, A/D [Dragon Models] (35G10) - just good general purpose grilles
1 x Aber 1/35 Grilles for JagdPanther Ausf. G1 Early [Dragon Models] (35G17) - just good general purpose grilles

Things that I can justifiably claim are not plastic kits:

1 x Legend Productions 1/35 US Stryker Driver (LF0133) - figure for one of my many Strykers
1 x Firestorm 1/35 Australian Matilda Conversion [for Tamiya 35355/35300] (FS35204) - for the obvious purpose, but not necessarily Australian Army
1 x Royal Model 1/35 Generator [comes with a welding mask & gloves] (Kit #717) - very useful for post-apocalypse dioramas

The "Oh, I've had these for ages!" plastic kits:

1 x Classic Airframes 1/48 Fiat CR.42 (Kit #475) - looks like an "interesting" (in both senses of the word) build
1 x Pacific Coast Models 1/48 Macchi C.200 serie VII (PCM 48001) - another "interesting" looking build
1 x Revell 1/48 B-26B/G Marauder (Kit #04525) - I now have a Revell B-25J & B-26B(/G), as well as the much better HK Models B-25J & ICM B-26B .... Leaves SO many options open!
1 x Mauve* 1/48 Curtiss P-40M (Kit #3/#00084) - nice looking kit but I'll need to get some (more) upgrade sets if I want it to look really decent, or strip the Hobby Boss kit

PS: I did buy a bunch of new tools & equipment, too.

[*: Japanese company that came into being in the mid-1990's then seems to have disappeared relatively quickly, however this kit seems to have been the basis for all of Eduard's P-40M/N kits up until this year.]

From the Brampton Show today.

A 1/72 Sword T2V-1 Seastar
A 1/144 Minicraft C-118 Liftmaster, which no less than EIGHT different decal schemes!
A sheet of decals for 1/72 U-2s,many of which I've never even heard of.
A sheet of decals for the RAF in the Middle East, just post WWII. It may JUST include the Hurricane I sat in sometime in 1946.
