Found in a Retro shop, you know, old fuel signs, assorted bric a brac.

Too much nostalgia to pass up for $5 AUD. First and perhaps only release in 1966

Been started, but probably the box is worth the money  ;D

Did pass on the Airfix La Haye Saint Farmhouse for $85 though  :o That was a ridiculous price.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on October 31, 2024, 02:31:11 PMF-106 wings on a Lightning ought to be good size.
Mate they are sweet and ones I did look at then a ran into a problem..thickness..we all know what the Lightning looks like and how thin it's wings are ..the delta dart/dagger wings just looked weird ..fact all wings I looked at just wasn't giving me a good vibe .
I was turning into one of those things which looked good in the head but in reality though..bugger.
Tho Concord wings would have worked ..72nd scale ones modified had the right look ..finding a 72nd scale Concord as a parts kit ...ummm no fecking way  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Quote from: Wardukw on October 30, 2024, 09:32:24 PMA 48th scale Airfix Lightning..what version I don't know as it was already made .. it is now in a pile a parts..no kidding..it fell apart 😆
I'm now having Viggen ideas

A Viggenised Lightning? If that's your plan, I want you to hit the bench right now, no excuses!
Reading my bloody mind again Ratty ??
It's rude and totally uncalled for !! ..at least give me advanced notice next time
But yeah ..I originally thought of a full delta winged Lightning..the problem was finding a wing with a close enough size and shape..or at least a wing with close proportions which I could modify.
I was getting there..Mirage 2000 as a base ...but as the say our brains work I saw the Vigorous Dragon and click  ;D
It's cheap and has the goods 👌
This will be a rather fast build so expect to see it in the Polar GB

TSR2 wing is perfect for a Delta Lightning.  Sweep and span is correct.

Various 1/35 ladies from Ali Xpress, some ideas for vignettes based around 1/32 cars.
And a 1/32 55 Chev Nomad diecast. Just because, you know, it's a Nomad.

Quote from: Pellson on October 26, 2024, 03:53:59 PMTook delivery of a 1/72 Hobbycraft CT-114 Tutor today. The kit looks really nice and it'll be almost RW as I intend to build it as a Canadian camouflaged traner/light attack aircraft, approximately as per the TWU Hawks or the Swedish Sk60B/C.

But that'll be something for the future, when I get a tad of Canadian mojo.

Similar here, even though I plan to convert it into a (actually) proposed twin-engine attack variant with a pointed NASARR nose, but the also camouflaged - maybe warparound green/grey with black or white-less markings.

Looking much forward to that, Thomas. I think I'm too lazy to cut mine up, but it'll be fun to see the difference between my one-blower and your twin-blower.

The "problem" is that it will later look like a T-37 with a pointed nose, and creating engine fairings in the wing roots will certainly be challenging, that's why I haven't tackled my project either...

I remember that series and the film
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

I built all of that range as display models when they first came out. They were very well done, and fitted nicely, but SO fiddly!.

And no, I DIDN'T do the rigging!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.
