Quote from: Wardukw on November 09, 2024, 10:55:34 PMMate that's sounding very steam punk 🤣
I like that very much
I think I paid like $20 or $25nz for my loco ..yep it had been already been built ..painted badly and then glued ..so it fell to bits 😆

For the stash I  just won a 1/25 AMT Scale Model Kit Groove Boss Super Modified Race Car Model
And a 1/35th Panda MAXPRO MRAP....my collection of MRAPS is looking pretty good now 👌 😀

Steampunk!  This is my inspiration, found it a while back and thought of the Batmissile and Big boy straight away.  It's taken me this long to get around to buying them, felt I needed a project. I often envisaged it on a snowy night, so it might get built for the Polar Wars GB if I can figure out how to fashion a plow. The end result might not look the same as the one below, partly because I thought the Batmissile was straight sided but it tapers, I can think of several ways I might go about it, all with a different look.

The Groove Boss looks very interesting, guess it's going to be super-special modified by the time you're done???
Mate this would definitely work in the Polar GB ..it's the right sort of machine for traveling the wastes between cities and the like 👍
The plow probably won't be to hard to knock up ..that bat boy has the start of one already built in to the nose..that could be cut off and lowered closer to the tracks so the main steam cylinder sits more in it's correct place ..
Are ya going to cut down the BBs length or is ya going to keep that and stretch the BM to match?
It's the length of the BB which is amazing..ok the RD is mind blowing for it's size but that don't matter here  ;D

That Groove Boss 😍..yes very violent plans for sure
It's getting the sand dragster treatment..paddle tyres and a monster blown BB 😳  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.

The plan is to cut down the BB's bogies to leave the 8 driving wheels only as these fit well into the wheel cutouts of the BM.  I'll have to cut out the centre section and extend it down as well as create a new floorpan to mount the bogies.

The BB and BM's widths are almost identical, so I was thinking of retaining the gauge, however it looks silly on the BM.  I'll have to find a way to widen it and the track piece that comes with the BB, and also figure out how much. I mentioned before the BM's sides taper so that will make my life more difficult, I may make side boxes like you see on some streamliners (and on the inspiration model).

That Groove Boss will look awesome.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

So from a 4x8x8x4 to a 4x8x4 .. still works and will still look cool 😎
Are ya going to remove the nose of the BM and mount the from of the BB there instead? ...ya still gotta have access to the steam tubes for cleaning and inspection ..just to complicate things more
You could use HO scale rail tracks in brass to get the track width...I scored some for mine ..cheap as mate and being brass much easier to handle than the plastic stuff .
I'm liking the  box idea ..it will bulk it out and make it look more steam punk 🤔 😎
This is gonna be cool 👍

Purloined on my behalf at SMW by Nick (cheers Nick, will catch up at the London show):
- 1/72 FROG Corsair IV
- 1/72 Airfix B-26

Early Crimbo prezzie from NARSES2:
- 1/72 Airfix tin-wing Hurricane I

From The Wooksta:
- miscellaneous resin bits

Will be united with all at the London show.

I think I mentioned in my blog that we hosted a Ukrainian mum and ger daughter for nigh on 18 months and helped them find their own place.  Well, her fiancée is visiting and surprised me with - personally couriered all the way from Kiev - a 1/32 ICM Tiger Moth!  Looks a lovely in the box.  Last 1/32 thing I built was a Matchbox Spitfire F.22/24 in the late 70s!  OMG that's made me feel really old.

Might use the cover and mount it straight onto the BM, it fits well. It's at an angle, but doesn't matter so much in this form.  I also might do the nose, completely differently, I haven't decided.

If I'll look into getting hold of some HO tracks, or even OO as they're slightly easier to come by.

It was recently re-released by Round2 at the same time as the Batmobile. It's pretty impressive that it got a model, as IIRC the Batmissile only gets a brief cameo.

The Rat

Narses 2 told me that I couldn't leave SMW without buying a kit, so I scooted over to a few vendors and eventually purchased the Heller Morane Saulnier MS406. How to do 'em? At least three countries; Lithuania, Poland, and Yugoslavia, ordered some, but none were delivered. Nationalist China ordered 12, it is thought that perhaps only 1 or 2 entered service, with the rest being diverted to Escadrille EC 2 against Japan.

Floats? Possibly.

The Wooksta!

Narses was kind enough to obtain some Eduard overtrees for me and these are in protective custody with Nick until the Bolton show.  It turns out that they were cheaper than last year too.

These are:
2 Bf 109G-10 (I'd like to do them as post war Czech C-10/S-99s)
1 Bf 109G-6 (probably Spain)
1 Fw 190F (unsure, but there's some useful spares in it)
1 P-51 D Mustang (Banff strike wing escort. I do have a part started pair of Tamiya ones, but this is even better)

Many thanks to all concerned.

ARL44 looks like its straight out of an anime/manga or 50's sci fi movie.  A multi turreted version might look good.

Gondor

When I got home I found out that the Italeri F-35A I bought, I already had, I should have bought the B version so I would have a complete set by the same company  :banghead:  No matter, a change of decals will go along way with this.

I also had not posted that I got a couple of boxes from Lee, Thanks very much Lee, I will send you some pictures for you to identify a few bits, I am also sure I can come up with something to do with the Lightning.

The eduard Royal box of the Bf 109G-10 looks to almost have enough parts inside it to make three aircraft with all the spare parts!
