Another ev!lbay win: finally got hands on a affordable Hasegawa 1:72 F11F Tiger. They come with irrational price tags these days (just like the Cougar kit) but won an auction with just EUR 6,50,-, less than the national postage. Strange, but nice catch - I feel inclined to make a German Marineflieger machine from it, with a Norm '76 scheme, as a supersonic stopgap between the Seahawk and the Starfighter. 

The Super Tiger was offered to Germany with a RR Avon engine and they were allegedly quite interested (but it lost out to the Starfighter for "non-technical" reasons    ), so a Marineflieger one is entirely credible.

Just for understanding , you paid 15 canadian dollars for a 1:72  P-47  kit ? 

I am surprised about the exchange rate ,   that is 10€  .

I, actually, have a collection stash of 1/72 twin-engined bombers, which includes all the above & others ... But those three ... In Glorious 1/48 ... Sigh!

Original sealed box, everything there, I've already started it. There is a problem with the kit which I will mention in a separate post, for those who may want to buy one.

So, having never done this before, I've added a Revell 1:144 Airbus A-330, Dora Wings 1:72 Fairey Delta and 1:72 Italeri Two seat AMX to join it's brother bought last year. Now if only I could order a stash of mojo to go with them...

I think you'll find that mojo accumulates through lurking around here for a day or two. After that you can't get rid of it!

Picked a Revell 1/72nd P-47 from a booth at an antique mall, $15Cdn. Was tempted to pick up the old Hawk deHavilland Comet, but after suffering through the ancient Airfix one I'll wait for a better one to come out. It certainly deserves it.

I don't know the standard price of the revell kits in Canada  , seems okay to me   ,  In fact I can't find any kits here on flea markets ,  ( and we visit very much of them ... )  , i bought only around 2-3 Modell kits on markets in the last ten years .  I prefer second hand ads and club meetings to get my stuff .

I think you'll find that mojo accumulates through lurking around here for a day or two. After that you can't get rid of it!

Well, I think the normal Tiger would already have been a huge step up from the British Seahawks. I might give it a proper radar (which the Tiger never had) for all-weather capabilities, but otherweise not change much.

It will get the Nomega upgrade set used on it as well as undercarriage and wheels from the latest Airfix kit.

What are you going to take out to make room for a
"proper radar"?

All-weather radars of the period aren't small and the
nose of the F11F is already stuffed with avionics and
the refueling probe.
