That'd be different..a Vindicare assassin corrupted by Khorne  ;D

Hoarded some more Humbrol enamels again. As they're all but unavailable from suppliers over here since the EU sales ban (since reverted, afaik ) you will have to catch whatever there is on the 2nd hand market, and hence, there's a batch of 23 unopened tins on its way again.
Not daring to tell the lovely Mrs P, though, as she's rather annoyed by the amount of tins I already possess.

Close, but not quite. Need to find a small unicorn to go with it.

Another one of those days today..not intending to a model from my FLHS. Stockers ...but looking at the shelves I saw a Revell 1/32nd Eurocopter EC135 and I had a double take at the price..$30 notes
It's a damaged stock from the supplier..a very slightly water damaged box..that's it ..oh its also missing the glue..brush and paints..like I'm worried about that 😆
Also 6 more packets of Evergreen 2.5mm angle to go with the other 14 ..that's 20 packets now so that should be enough for the rear tracks on my heli carrier .

Be careful, those old enamel tins were sized so as to be almost the perfect size for female hands to throw at recalcitrant males, and that's before they get the slingshot out  ;)  ;D

Must admit I still prefer the old Humbrol enamel Metalcote range when it comes to metallics.

Had a Hobbycraft 15% off voucher burning a hole in my pocket, so now I have a cooler pocket and the following:

1 x bottle of Humbrol oil stain wash (they've got Humbrol back in on a nice new display)

Revell 1/72nd Bell UH-1D German SAR boxing. Although it has decals for German SAR and transport versions, the main sprues also have all the gunship bits, which is nice for the spares box. The German version are addressed with two small sprues, one of which has a full seating kit on it, and the other of which has six stretchers and medical kit. Again, all nice bits to have on stock. I seem to have quite the collection of Revell Huey bits.

Mistercraft 1/24th Alfa Romeo "Alfetta". Ironically I used to own the Smer boxing of this kit, but then I sold it. Looks like a good basis for a Vanship or other dieselpunk/sci-fi build. One thing it's NOT getting is built OOB, not with those paint-your-own-spokes-on-a-clear-disc wheels!

IIRC the Alfetta was one of the only two Merit 1/24 car kits that included an engine, and it was a good one too.

The other was the 4.5 litre Talbot-Lago, an really brutal looking device!

I built all those Merit car kits back in the 60s, as window models for my mate Derek's model shop, and very nice they were too.

Yes, the engine looks good. It's only 1500cc too, which means it would scaleorama into something suitably OTT in 1/35th or 1/48th.

The nice thing about the body is that it's a full shell on the underside too, which means you can make it look like a flying machine without doing a lot of work to hide/disguise the chassis.

They didn't have spray cans of Humbrol as far as I could see. They do have a range of Plastikote cans which are expensive but good in my limited experience.

Would look neat parked next to a Beverly in a similar scheme
Not a bad idea actually. Mikro Mir does a decent Beverly  in 1/144. Think I might need to acquire a couple.  ;)  ;D

I shall claim my commission from them  ;D
  ;)  ;D  Actually, I've decided to do a Roden C-133 Cargomaster in that lovely RAF finish too!! You ain't getting commission on THAT though! ;D .I've actually got three of the C-133 kits (including one with the Thor missile. I don't really like natural metal finishes so, one of the others at least  (probably the missile carrier) will be in S E Asia camouflage.

Quote from: kitbasher on August 05, 2024, 05:34:06 AMFrom the Wonderland Models 'veteran' pre-loved sale a Cessna O-2A (never had one before, still has original 19p price written in pencil on it (it's a bagged original release)) and Cherokee Arrow, both Airfix.

The O-2A will be OOB, the Cherokee converted into a Cherokee Warrior.  Flew in the RAF Brize Norton Flying Club Warriors a few times, so it'll be one of theirs.  Found an excellent conversion thread on Britmodeller, although I won't be making my own cast resin, etched brass or vacform items, mine will be slightly less accurate but close enough for me!

EDIT: This of course means Airfix can relax regarding giving either kit the 'Vintage Classic' treatment (although the O-2 is great conversion/whif material) and focus on repopping their Skyvan.

I left Wonderland happily clutching a Matchbox PB4-Y Privateer, a couple of Matchbox Siskin IIIs , FROG Martin Maryland and, Martin Baltimore. ;D  Very happy chap! Apparently they have over 10,000 obsolete kits in the collection they bought. I get my pensions paid next weerk. I can see another trip to Wonderland coming up!

I'm doing my Thor carrying Cargomaster as a RAF one too, eventually................................. :(

I have one of them.  Not sure who's name is on the box but it's the same mould.  I'm collecting spoked wheels in the hopes of being able to build it as a more accurate replica of the real car.
