A nice parcel from the Big H this morning, containing various Spitfire bits and bobs for my Mk 25 elsewhere.

As I can't find the Modeldecal sheets for the colourful Meteor NF11s/14s that I planned to use on the F25, I ordered both of the sheets again, you can never have too many of course.

Plus some rather smart looking resin exhausts with nice hollow ports to them, a cockpit & wheel masking set for that precise kit, and another masking set for the camo pattern too. I'd read about these but never seen one so I thought I'd give it a try.

Plus a Spitfire PRXI resin camera fir, just because, and I may fit some of the bits to the F25, would make it an FR25 of course. Plus some resin gun barrels.

We'll see how they all work, or some of them anyway.

There were or maybe still are some transfer sheets available which have various wood grains in 1/72 (were difficult to get hold of at the time), 1/48 and 1/32. Mainly intended for WWI aircraft, but could obviously be used for a multitude of things. Somewhere I've got some Albertross "plywood" sheets, but can't remember the scale.

I wasn't aware there was a kit available of the class. Always thought the Dido class were one of the most attractive of RN WWII era ships.

Only released this year, Chris, & (according to ScaleMates) they're following up with HMS Argonaut

I have heard of folk using very small wire brushes to enhance/make the grain, so could that work?
Or could that work on sheet plastic?
Or, the transfer option may work better; though I can't see how you could paint over it and still have the grain effect - unless it's a 3-d print.

Bought an Evergreen styrene assortment pack, 10, 20 & 40 thou, mainly to build the Mega float for the He 119, and some medium superglue and a Revell 1/72 Kfir, as I didn't know they did one and it looks very Whiffable.

Oh yes, and a new laptop.  ;D

The old one is quite literally falling to bits, it works OK, but the screen is about to fall right out of its housing.  :banghead:
