Quote from: PR19_Kit on October 23, 2024, 08:47:39 AMBought a Revell 1/72 Kfir, as I didn't know they did one and it looks very Whiffable.

That's the old Italeri kit, also boxed by Tamiya.

It looks pretty good, excellent 'Orange Tri-angle' IDF decals, which will definitely end up on something else though.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Ordered Sunday, arrived Wednesday from Wildcat Models

1/72 Wolfpack Decals - The Last Active Tomcats - Iranian.
https://wildcatsmodels.com/en/decals-and-masks/18525-defmodel-t-38a-talon-fod-cover-set-for-wolfpack-1-48-ds48008.html

The first set of these should look good on my F-16 in Imperial Iranian Air Force colours. You've probably seen the sales artwork floating around the net at some point.

The Wooksta!

Had an unstarted Revell Blohm und Voss Bv 222 donated earlier.  Still trying to work out quite how to whiff it.  Need to do some research as I know we captured at least one, but that was a late one with Jumo 205s.  Spain is too obvious, as is Argentina.

I have found a three view of one projected version with four BMW 801s, but again I think more research is required.

I can't see a feasible way for Chile to get them.  They flew after the start of the war, so a pre war buy isn't possible and postwar, the escaping Nazis headed first for Argentina and spread throughout South America later.

post war Nowegian Navy as a stop-gap MPA?
It could help keep a toe hold in the aviation game for B&V post war............after all those monsters would need dry docking rather than deport level servicing........
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Offhand, I don't think Norway used any ex-German aircraft, which makes them unusual because everyone else did.

And Norwegian markings are not easy to get. I had a hell of a time when I was doing simple Spitfires.

How about these Lee

And yes I know they are 1/48, but BV222 is quite large, the sheet also has smaller roundels in that size.

Ta for the heads up, but even if I was minded to go the Norwegian option, extreme poverty precludes that option.

The BMW 801 engined version is the one that intrigues me most.

Works well with the wings and engines from the old Airfix Vulcan B.2.

I have a few ex-Heller F-84G decals. If they will be of any help, just let me know and PM me your address.
