Birthday was just a number.  Nothing divisible by ten.  I got some good gifts but no models.

I did get a package from Hasslefree Miniatures in the UK today.
It contained a 28mm white metal Armed Scooby Gang and an injection moulded O gauge trailer kit (as in trailer park - caravan here & in UK).

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

No doubt you have exotic plans for the trailer?  ;)

Bought a cheap Heller1:72 Curtiss SBC for The Stashâ„¢, and think about painting it (simply) in RAF Coastal Command markings/colors.

Nick

Nice trailers. Put a few together and you'll have your own trailer park. Just like My Name Is Earl.

"Hippo Birdie", as they say... ;)

Interesting, I had heard that Hasslefree was out of business?

Picked up at the Rare Plane Detective while vacationing in Palm Springs, California.  Jeff does a great mail order business and walk ins at his store.  Great service and inventory especially of vintage kits.  Very reasonable.

My first treat for the month and I've finally got my hands on the "Hornby Chamber of Secrets ' 00 gauge model railway set.  Yes its the wrong locomotive Castle Class and not the Hall Class but it's the better looking locomotive that Hornby has produced and comes with the station halt, two coaches, track and controller.
Two more purchases on eBay model railway related.
Hornby R331 London Road Station/Terminus
Hornby footbridge and a pair of tunnels

My Nike Hercules kit arrived, eventually to be the launcher for my Navaho.

Great pointer to that kit from Dave, thanks so much.

I went looking in both Aldi and Liddle earlier today to see what was available.

Aldi had no kits, they had also run out of their puff pastry mince pies,  :banghead:  good job I got hold of a couple of packs earlier

Liddle had some Airfix kits and some Quick build stuff too. The Airfix kits were all nominally 1/72 and included the Sherman Firefly, DUKW, and Spitfire Mk. 1a and the Foland Gnat T.1.

I came home with one of the Gnats, either Australian or New Zealand I think.

Delivered yesterday by Royal Mail from the Big H. Took 4 days from clicking the button to doorstep, so not bad for this time of year.

You cannot view this attachment.

Been waiting for this since it was first announced and it doesn't disappoint. Looks very well detailed and my recent experience with their recent toolings is that the fit is good. My only slight disappointment is that you can't open the bomb bays, but that's only a slight niggle. This will get built Real World as a tribute to those brave souls who flew it in action in France in 1940. Probably wait until someone brings out a masking set before tackling it

This was bought on a whim really, sparked by seeing the Overtrees box I picked up for Lee at SMW, and it's stunning. Interestingly it has the "Licenced by Boeing" sticker on the box, which of course the Overtrees boxing doesn't. Do Boeing know ?   There'll be loads for the spares box once it gets built and I'll have a bet that half the detail will never be seen again once the fuselage and wings are closed up, but I'll know its there, won't I  ;)  I do have an idea for this, an RAF Coastal Command aircraft using its long range to provide cover for the Beaufighters and Mosquitos whilst on their anti-shipping strikes off the Norwegian coast ? Might look different in Coastal Command colours ?

A Coastal Command Mustang sounds intriguing.  Have at it, Good Sir!
