Hm, yes. I can't say that cranked wings work too well on a Spitfire.

Elliptical wings on a Corsiar however, NOW you're talking.

The Spit looks great.  The Spit wings on the Corsair give it a Brewsterish look.

I have something similar on my agenda, too, as a land-based F4U derivative, yet with P-47 wings and landing gear, because I think that the parts' size will be a better match for the quite bulky Corsair.

The Spitsair is under-powered & the Corfire has far to high a wing loading BUT ,,, !


They both look bloody good!

Supermarine Type 224 was designed as a replacement for the Gauntlet
